Russound works with Destiny

Russound and Destiny Networks to integrate technologies for better home automation
NEWMARKET, N.H., Sept. 13, 2005 — Russound, a leading manufacturer of award-winning multiroom audio products, and Destiny Networks, a systems control and hands-free automation company, today announced they have entered into an agreement under which Russound will develop, manufacture and market home system automation products that will run on Destiny’s Ubiquity software. The Russound/Destiny agreement calls for joint development effort to commence during the fourth quarter of 2005. With several product concepts currently in planning, Russound expects to begin release of Ubiquity enabled products and systems during the second half of 2006.

“When the Ubiquity solution was first demonstrated to us, I immediately knew that teaming with Destiny was something we had to do,” stated Russound President Maureen Baldwin. “Destiny’s approach to automation is in lock step with our philosophy to enhance the experience of all who install and use Russound systems. The synthesis created through the integration of Destiny’s automation technologies and Russound multiroom audio-video will sharpen our focus at Russound on value, ease of system installation/configuration and intuitive user interaction. After all, these products should be easy and profitable to install and fun to use.”

“Today’s sophisticated A/V equipment needs more sophisticated solutions to simplify setup and control. Destiny Networks meets this need with an intuitive platform that requires no programming to set up, is simple and reliable to use, and integrates seamlessly with high quality home technology products, such as those from Russound,” said Destiny Network’s President Mark Stiving. “We are very excited about our new relationship with Russound. We share a laser focus on optimizing both the installer and user experience, which makes this an ideal partnership, but most importantly, it guarantees delivery of the most compelling solutions to Russound’s channel partners and customers.”
