UNION CITY, CALIFORNIA — October 6, 2005 — Runco International and La Scala Home Cinema + Integrated Media are teaming up to bring Vancouver, British Columbia residents a unique home cinema experience that redefines the state-of-the-art in home theater video display technology. CineWide eliminates black stripes on the top and bottom of the screen while preserving every single line of resolution available from the display’s chips, and the motorized AutoScope lens assembly allows viewers to switch to the new, extra-wide viewing mode with a single button-push. La Scala plays host to demonstrations that will run throughout the evening on Thursday, October 6, 2005.

Bob Hana, president of Runco International remarked, “We are delighted to embark on the CineWide with AutoScope World Tour in Canada with our friends at La Scala. Our new CineWide with AutoScope technology lets our customers, for the first time; watch the films in the epic CinemaScope 2.35:1 format in their home with all of their original clarity and brightness. We are now able to transform your home theater into a cinematic experience that captures the grand scale of professional cinemas.”

La Scala’s president, Marilyn Sanford commented, “It’s an awesome experience to see what a difference this new technology makes in preserving the authenticity of true cinematic proportions. You have to see it to believe it.” Ms. Sanford added, “Runco once again earns their reputation for “Bringing Hollywood Home” with the debut of their Cinewide with AutoScope technology.”

Currently available on select Runco projectors, CineWide with AutoScope is enhanced not only with a new lens configuration, but also with software programmed to ensure uncompromised widescreen reproduction of movies originally filmed in the CinemaScope 2.35:1 format.

Bob Hana added, “Runco’s mission has always been to push the technological envelope beyond existing benchmarks and we’re very proud with what we have accomplished with the breakthrough CineWide with AutoScope technology. As the demand for widescreen entertainment expands, we’re ready to provide the people that really want to watch a movie the way the director intended it, with a thrilling cinematic experience.”
