RTcom USA Announces Worlds First Expandable Digital Matrix Router That Supports Multiple Digital Signal Types

Denver, (September 4, 2008) — RTcom USA Inc., provider of digital connectivity solutions for professional and consumer audio-visual and personal computer systems, announces the EDM-3636M, the world’s first expandable digital matrix router that simultaneously supports multiple digital video contents, allowing custom electronics design and installation contractors to use a single device for multiple signal types, rather than incorporating a variety of separate matrix switchers.

Previously, multiple signal types — including Digital Video Interface (DVI), High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI), Secure Digital Interface (SDI) and DisplayPort — could not be supported by a single device. This required installation contractors to design overly complex and very costly systems.

The EDM-3636M expandable digital matrix router supports various digital formats, including DVI, HDMI, SDI and DisplayPort. The EDM-3636M features a flexible back plane with slots for modular input/output cards, which allow prompt availability for any interface. The Expandable Matrix Router is user-configurable, so input/output cards may be replaced at any time after initial purchase.

“At RTcom, we provide audio-visual and electronics professionals with innovative solutions that streamline their custom installation process,” said Joon Ryu, president of RTcom USA. “The expandable matrix router is a revolutionary technology that provides unprecedented ease and flexibility, allowing the access and control of multiple digital interfaces with one product.”

Among the EDM-3636M’s other features are:
-Several user interface options: RS-232C, LAN(TCP/IP)Control, and from the integrated touch panel
-HDCP compliant
-Conforms to DVI 1.0, HDMI Ver1.3a and DISPLAY PORT V1.1
-Built-in Extended Display Identification Data (EDID) read function, with Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory (EEPROM), to save display EDID data. The unit also supports non-VESA resolutions, including projectors with unique resolutions. This function is easy to set up by the user
-Built-in noise protection circuits in each input and output port

The EDM-3636M expandable digital matrix router is now available and requires a one month lead time with pricing still to be determined. U.S. customers can purchase it through Aurora Multimedia at (732) 591-5800 or sales@auroramultimedia.com. International customers can contact RTcom USA directly at (973) 383-4878 or rtcomusa@earthlink.net.
