First Portable DVD Player with Wireless Headphone and TV Tuner
for Easy Travel or Game Watching at the Stadium — New from Pixa
MP-810 8.4″ Portable DVD Player Takes Mobile Entertainment to the Next Level

LAS VEGAS (2005 International CES, January 6, 2005, South Hall 2 #25427) — Video watching on the go just got better with the Pixa MP-801 8.4″ Portable DVD Player from Pixa, Inc. — the first wireless DVD player that comes with a wireless headphone and TV tuner for expanded mobile entertainment capabilities.

The player’s infrared-based wireless headset makes it easy for kids to watch movies in the car without bothering their parents or getting tangled up in wires, while the TV tuner/antenna set enables kids to tune into favorites like Sesame Street or Sabrina: The Teenage Witch on the road simply by plugging the tuner into the side of the player and sticking the antenna on the car roof.

For sports fans of all ages, the TV tuner offers the added benefit of being able to watch broadcasts of major league football, baseball or basketball games on the player while simultaneously watching the live action at the stadium. Gamegoers can now see the instant replays, hear the play by play, and more — all with an easy-to-carry unit that weighs just over two pounds and is roughly the size of a paperback book.

In addition:

• Kids can use the player as a monitor for their PlayStation or other game console while in the car, simply by hooking it up to the console with the stereo AV input.

• Adults can connect it to their camcorder for a full-screen view of their video footage, again by using the stereo AV input included with the unit.

• At home, it can serve an extra TV by using the antenna to tune into regular broadcast stations or by hooking the RF connector included with the package to the home’s cable TV outlet to access cable channels.

The player has a wide 8.4″ LCD flip-up screen with a 1440×234 resolution, adjustable 400-nit brightness, 160-degree viewing angle and 16:9 aspect ratio. Power is provided by a rechargeable three-hour battery pack, making it possible to watch extra-long flicks like “The Fellowship of the Ring” in one sitting.

It supports CD, VCD, CD-R, MP3, MPEG and Kodak Picture CD playback as well as DVDs. It includes stereo speakers, is compatible with both PAL and NTSC formats, and comes with a carrying case as well as an AC/DC power adapter for international use.
