7.1-Channel A/V Receiver Featuring AirPlay, HDMI 1080p Video Processing (3D, ARC) and Compatibility with iPod, iPhone, iPad
Pioneer has introduced the VSX-1021 7.1-channel A/V Receiver ($549) with AirPlay technology that enables music streaming from iTunes to the receiver when it's connected to your home network, either via Ethernet or with Pioneer's optional wireless adapter (AS-WL300).
In addition, Pioneer is offering a free Air Jam App which connects a iPhone, iPad and iPod touch to the receiver via Bluetooth (optional AS-BT200 Bluetooth adapter required). Once connected, up to four devices can play music through the A/V Receiver. Each connected device will display the list of songs added by all users and the device each song will play from. The Air Jam App will also keep the list of songs from each session on each device for future purchase through the iTunes Store.
The Pioneer iControlAV2 App, also available in the App Store for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch gives users even more control of their home theater settings when used with the VSX-1021. The app enables control of volume, bass, balance and room settings and is further enhanced when used with an iPad, integrating all four app controls into an intuitive single screen. Additional features include detailed graphic representations of before and after MCACC room calibration, and sound adjustments that enable users to create their own equalizer settings with a simple “touch and draw” on the screen. The iControlAV2 App also includes Blu-ray player control when connected to a compatible Pioneer Blu-ray player.
Communicating with the VSX-1021 wirelessly through your home network, the iControlAV2 app turns your iPhone, iPod touch and now your iPad into a powerful remote control for your receiver. Control everything from basic volume and input selection to advanced features like EQ adjustments and Internet Radio control. iControlAV2 for iPad includes enhanced features like vertical and horizontal orientation, intuitive control of music from networked PCs as well as internet radio control, and a super-cool finger EQ adjust screen; simply draw the EQ curve to your desired sound preference.
The VSX-1021 is also DLNA 1.5 certified for streaming MP3, AAC, WMA, WAV, or even FLAC music files from your PC, laptop or smartphone to your home theater system. The receiver also supports Internet Radio with vTuner, so you can enjoy 1000's of internet radio stations from around the world.
On the video side, the VSX-1021 up-scales all sources to 1080p using Anchor Bay video processing. Five HDMI 1.4a certified inputs are 3D-ready and provide ample connectivity options.
