Inspired by the dynamic sound reproduction from its TAD speaker offerings and 70-year legacy in speaker manufacturing, Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc. expands its current lineup of groundbreaking architectural loudspeakers, introduced in September 2008, with a new line of Elite branded models. Infused with audiophile-grade performance, Pioneer’s chief speaker designer Andrew Jones and his engineering team developed these speakers from the ground up to create the ultimate in full definition home entertainment. The resulting six models are crafted with a bevy of sophisticated materials and exclusive technologies that produce demonstrable solutions with utmost flexibility ideal for a variety of custom installation projects.

“At the heart of our engineering efforts was a no-compromise attitude toward every element of the development process, resulting in some of the most advanced architectural speaker products to date,” said Andrew Jones, chief speaker designer for Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc. “This line of Elite models is quite extraordinary on its own, but only when combined with the rest of Pioneer’s award-winning home theater products, the new speakers deliver a magical emotional home entertainment experience that is unmatched by any single manufacturer right now.”

Launched as a speaker company over seven decades ago, Pioneer’s Elite architectural loudspeakers work in concert with leading KURO™ displays, Blu-ray Disc players and A/V receivers to provide an awe-inspiring premium high definition listening performance.

Engineered For A Dynamic Home Theater
Recognizing the emergence of lossless audio formats, Pioneer’s engineers built the new models with cutting-edge materials including a titanium tweeter, woven aramid fiber woofer and cast aluminum chassis to handle and faithfully reproduce HD film and live concert soundtracks the way an audio engineer originally intended it to be heard. Jones and team incorporated a specialized angled baffle configuration that works with Pioneer’s exclusive Coherent Source Transducer (CST) technology to further envelop discerning entertainment enthusiasts into their favorite film and music content.

The CST Advantage
The new Elite line consists of three in-wall models, including a 3-way left/center/right option and two angled in-ceiling speakers that all use Pioneer’s innovative CST technology, which expands a room’s “sweet spot” to deliver a uniform sound to home audiences. Pioneer’s CST technology works to significantly improve off-axis performance and produce a smoother, more accurate frequency response that surpass the capabilities offered by pivoting driver designs. With CST technology, Pioneer’s new line of speakers provides installers with a versatile audio solution ideal for HD home theater or multi-room audio applications with enhanced customization features that can be tuned to clients’ listening needs.

Ultimate Flexibility for Any Custom Installation
Setting a new standard in sound customization, the Elite architectural speakers are equipped with additional treble and bass controls that allow home integration specialists to finely tune a unit’s high frequency output, tonal balance and overall bass management for optimized performance within a variety of room environments or to best suit the preferences of a client.

Professional installers and consumers can be confident in durability of the architectural speakers, which have been outfitted with a thermal protection circuit that can endure the highest audio output from today’s high resolution formats.

Pioneer’s Elite Architectural Loudspeakers will begin shipping in spring 2009.
