Phase Tech Introduces CI FGR/Tilt Universal Flange and Grille Kit for Custom Installation Round In-Ceiling Speakers

Installers Can Now Benefit from Just In Time Delivery of Mounting Accessory

JACKSONVILLE, FL — Feb. 22, 2006 — Phase Technology today introduced its latest innovation aimed to achieve the ultimate convenience in custom installation. Building on the success of its original universal mounting system, which established a home audio hallmark, Phase Tech now unveils the new CI-FGR/Tilt specifically for the Custom Installation Round In-Ceiling Speaker Series. The custom installer now has a versatile mounting solution featuring a tilt function that positions speakers at an angle of 20 degrees, to aim sound more directly at the listeners.

“The CI-FGR/Tilt is simply the fastest and easiest way to install an in-ceiling speaker system that looks and sounds like what today’s homeowners want,” said Tony Weber, director of sales and marketing at Phase Technology. “With the new CI-FGR/TILT on the shelf, along with our original CI-FGR flat flange/grille sets, an installer can configure sound in any room to meet their clients’ needs. Whether they wish speakers angled toward the listener to focus the sound in a theater setting or from sloping ceilings, or want a more traditional indirect soundfield, Phase Tech’s installers can provide the solutions with any of our in-ceiling CI-Series models. The installer doesn’t need to double-inventory different models to fit both situations, saving time and money, as one speaker can now serve both functions. This “just-in-time” ordering system means the installer doesn’t need to order the speakers until the very end of the project. With a simplified selection of models filling all types of needs, installers can maximize their profit opportunities. Anytime we can help the installers streamline their inventory, and make it better fit the installation timetable, we are contributing to their bottom line.”

Phase Technology allows installers to order any number of CI-FGR/Tilt or standard CI-FGR flat-mount frames and grilles, before ordering speakers. The installer can then use any CI-Series ceiling speaker in either an angled or a flat-mounted position. By mounting frames and grilles separately, speakers can be protected and kept out of the work zone while speaker wire is installed and paint or wallpaper is applied. This approach saves installers the hassle of carrying around handfuls of tools on the job. Installers save time and frustration, and homeowners gain flexibility in choosing the perfect sound system. With the CI-FGR/Tilt installers can fully prepare job sites, pre-wire, mount and paint flanges and grilles, before homeowners need to choose a particular speaker model. The speakers can also be removed without the need to retouch paint or wallpaper on flanges and grilles, making future upgrades a snap.

The mounting kits can be installed and pre-wired in many additional areas of the home, office, restaurant, or other site where speakers may be easily added at a later time. This offers many tangible cost savings and practical benefits to the installer, dealer and customer when Phase Tech’s CI Rounds are installed. Custom installers will ultimately benefit from a flexible, functional mounting accessory/enclosure that uniquely positions speakers to direct sound toward listeners.

The company started as United Speaker Systems in 1955 as an original equipment manufacturer and still designs and produces its own sub-assemblies in-house. Phase Technology’s speaker lines incorporate many proprietary innovations like the soft-dome tweeter, the industry’s standard invented by Bill Hecht, founder of Phase Technology. Other patents cover the self-damping woofer voice coil, the manufacturing process for flat-piston midrange drivers and woofers, silicone-injected drivers for resonance damping, and the positive-clamping mounting system for the premier in-wall Model CI-110/II. The company also developed the Unicell Zero-Diffraction treatment that reduces acoustic reflections off cabinet and grille surfaces. Phase Technology manufactures its wood cabinets by hand and performs quality control tests at every step of the fabrication process.

Building on five decades of design and engineering innovation in the manufacture of high quality, yet affordable speakers, Phase Technology supports its products with a 10-year warranty on speakers, while amplifiers are backed by a 3-year warranty. Phase Technology’s digital home theater, audiophile, outdoor, in-wall/in-ceiling custom installation speakers, as well as powered and in-wall subwoofers are constructed at the company’s Jacksonville, Florida facility.
