PerkinElmer To Showcase Several New Sensor And LED Products In Nuremberg At Sensor Test 2006

Gas Detection, Motion Detection, Laser Range Finding and Mood Lighting
Applications Highlighted

Nuremberg, Germany — SENSOR + TEST 2006 — Booth # 5-225 — PerkinElmer Optoelectronics, a global technology leader in digital imaging, specialty lighting and optical detection technologies, today announced that it will showcase new and enhanced sensor and LED products at SENSOR + TEST 2006, held May 30 through June 1, 2006 at the Nuremberg Convention Center.

“Our specialty sensor solutions are easy and cost-effective for OEMs to integrate into systems that serve a variety of industrial and consumer applications, speeding time-to-market and lowering cost of ownership,” said Michael Fichtner, European Sales Leader, PerkinElmer Optoelectronics.

Highlighted products and demos include:
• IR Natural Gas Sensor by PerkinElmer — the first dual channel, low-cost, digitally calibrated natural gas sensor module to fully comply with the EN 50 194 standard. These natural gas detection sensors, based on NDIR technology, offer superior performance, reliability, and lifetime as compared with MOS and catalytic technologies. A live demo will be on display at the booth.
• Pulsed EPI-Cavity Lasers — a new, compact pulsed laser chip series, including both dual and triple EPI-cavity lasers, provides reliable, high output power in a small emitting area. One triple cavity laser chip, with a stripe width of 225um, has a typical peak power output of 80 watts. Output power can be increased to 240 watts by stacking three diodes in series. A laser range finding application will be on display at the booth.
• DigiPyro – the world’s first digital pyrodetector, a dual element pyroelectric infrared sensor for motion detection applications.
• ACULED RGB LED Platform — delivering superior brightness, excellent color mixing and compact size for a variety of demanding LED applications such as mood and architectural lighting. The unique advantages of our chip-on-board (COB) technology will be highlighted along with the new Lens Holder System, LHS-AL25.
