Panasonic today introduced the KX-MB2061 “8-in-1” office and imaging communications system, the industry's only “solution-in-a-box” integrating laser printing, copying and faxing with five other essential document handling, telecommunications and Internet business functions.

The first product developed from the ground up since the merger of Panasonic's document, communications and security divisions into Panasonic System Networks Company of America, the highly affordable KX-MB2061 is a perfect “all-in-one” solution for SOHO and other entrepreneurial businesses short on office space and long on workloads.

“The KX-MB2061 is a terrific example of the technological and marketing synergies envisioned when we decided to bring the communications, security and document divisions together under one flag,” Panasonic System Networks Company of America President Bill Taylor said. “It was that aggregated expertise that enabled us to design this truly revolutionary product and bring it to market in such a short time.

“It is also a powerful statement of how we view the next decade,” Taylor added. “That will be a decade in which small- to mid-sized businesses retire their inefficient single-purpose machines in favor of multi-function products. These tools allow the customer to streamline workflows in their businesses, reduce operating, service and energy costs, and deliver an excellent return on their investment with Panasonic.”

Key features of the new 8-in-1 include high-speed laser printing (up to 24 ppm), Super G3 faxing and networked color scanning. The KX-MB2061 also incorporates a Panasonic DECT 6.0 telephone system for crystal clear, static-free conversations over as many as six cordless handsets1 and a digital answering system.

To enhance document security in non-private installation environments, the KX-MB2061 supports paperless fax reception by utilizing advanced algorithms to convert incoming faxes to standard PDF files. Incoming voice messages can also be automatically delivered to a user's email account or smart phone as a standard .wav file.

“The idea behind all that last-generation hardware is that paper documents, landline phones, smart phones and email are separate and distinct entities, but they're really not.” Taylor noted. “Their basic function is identical, they're communication devices. The KX-MB2061 is a new-concept multifunction product that stands alone in delivering a solution for a myriad of those communication needs in a single compact, cost-effective, high performance package.”

Price and Availability
With a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $249, the Panasonic KX-MB2061 ships complete with one corded telephone headset, one cordless DECT 6.0 headset, Readiris Pro 7 optical character recognition software, and Panasonic's proprietary Easy Print Utility.
