Panamax Redefines the Term Excite With Recent Win from Custom Retailer Magazine

PETALUMA, CA — October 11, 2005 Panamax, the leading manufacturer of power protection and conditioning products, kicked off an extraordinary season by receiving the Excite Award from Custom Retailer Magazine. The award was presented during the 2005 Custom Electronics Design & Installation Association (CEDIA) EXPO in recognition of the MAX 5500-EX Home Theater Power Conditioner, which features high-current outlets that allow amplifiers and powered subwoofers to work to their full potential.

“We are exceptionally pleased and honored to receive this acknowledgment from the editors of Custom Retailer,” said John Maloney, vice president of sales and marketing at Panamax. “With manufacturers offering more sophisticated and compelling solutions for home theater enjoyment, our new EX line is Panamax’s contribution to ensuring uninterrupted entertainment.”

The M5500-EX features Level 6 noise filtration with five isolated outlet banks [two banks with AC Regeneration (via a 500VA Isolation Transformer) for digital components, two banks for analog components, and one bank for high current equipment], two outlets per bank, front panel convenience outlet, DC Trigger input and delayed output. The unit also provides protection provides protection for two HD Satellite TV, two HD cable TV, one phone line, and one LAN line. Includes a detachable 10′ shielded 12AWG power cord, and rack mount bracket kit. An optional silver bezel is available to match other silver components.

The M5500-EX employs Panamax’s patent-pending Automatic Voltage Monitoring Circuitry (AVM), which constantly monitors the AC line voltage for unsafe voltage conditions such as prolonged overvoltages and undervoltages (brownouts). These unsafe conditions pose a very dangerous threat to all electronic equipment within the home. If the conditioners sense unsafe power, they will automatically disconnect the equipment to protect it from damage. Once the voltage returns to a safe level, the power will automatically be reconnected.

The M5500-EX also features Panamax’s leading Protect or Disconnect Circuitry, which safeguards equipment from catastrophic surges such as lightning by completely disconnecting the AC power to the connected equipment.

The Excite Awards pay tribute each year to products that best exemplify the excitement and growth of the custom installation and consumer electronics industries. Recipients are selected through consultation among Custom Retailer’s Editors and Contributors, as well as selected retailers and industry observers. Whether through exceptional innovation, outstanding value, market presence or market impact, the Excite Award winners have distinguished themselves as the leading lights of the business.
