The M5500-EX, M5300-EX, M5100-EX and M4300-EX replace existing models, while the entirely new M5400-EX rounds up the series offering installers greater flexibility and improved picture quality. The new Home Theater Power Conditioner family will start shipping in early July.

The EMI/RFI noise filtration capabilities vary by model ranging from Level 2 for the M4300-EX to Level 6 for the M5500-EX. The family’s contemporary styling features silver highlights on a black chassis complemented by blue power status indicator lights. In addition, Panamax offers an optional silver bezel to allow the product to seamlessly blend with other silver A/V components. The M5100-EX features a blue LED voltmeter, while the M5300-EX, M5400-EX and M5500-EX showcase digital voltmeters with blue readouts. Additionally, the M5400-EX and M5500-EX also feature a digital ammeter.
All models in the new Home Theater Power Conditioner family feature high-current outlets that allow amplifiers and powered subwoofers to work to their full potential. When the movie thunders with a terrific explosion or when the music reaches a climactic crescendo, an amplifier has to rapidly draw large amounts of current to replenish its capacitors. Traditional line conditioners impede this current draw, in effect, starving an amplifier and resulting in a flat, dead sound. The High-Current Outlets provide clean, filtered power to amplifiers but have no current limiting components to impede performance.
Panamax’s patent-pending Automatic Voltage Monitoring Circuitry (AVM) inherent in all models constantly monitors the AC line voltage for unsafe voltage conditions such as prolonged overvoltages and undervoltages (brownouts). These unsafe conditions pose a very dangerous threat to all electronic equipment within the home. If the conditioners sense unsafe power, they will automatically disconnect the equipment to protect it from damage. Once the voltage returns to a safe level, the power will automatically be reconnected.
All five components employ Panamax’s leading Protect or Disconnect Circuitry, which safeguards equipment from catastrophic surges such as lightning by completely disconnecting the AC power to the connected equipment.
