Outdoor Entertainment Takes on New Dimensions with Phase Techs Stylish New Outdoor Speakers

SPF 55 and SPF 85 Offer “Stellar” Sound Performance for a Perfect Evening Under the Stars

JACKSONVILLE, FL — Feb. 22, 2006 — Consumers today demand that their sound technology deliver an experience that’s heard, and never, if ever, seen. Phase Technology today introduced the ultimate solution for stealth entertainment that is stylish and effective in the SPF-55 and SPF-85 omni-directional 5″ and 8″ (respectively) outdoor speakers. With weather-resistant 360-degree coverage and an unobtrusive, rounded in-ground design, these new additions to the SPF outdoor speaker series deliver impressive high fidelity audio for a wide variety of outdoor applications.

“We’re really excited about what these speakers mean for entertainment in the great outdoors,” said Ken Hecht, president of Phase Technology. “To have the ability to bring the same level of enjoyment that one experiences within the comfort of the living room, and to reproduce that same experience in an outdoor setting is remarkable. These SPF speakers are great for entertaining since the sound envelops you wherever you are.”

Featuring a durable omni-directional design that boasts downward firing speakers, the new SPF speakers distribute sound smoothly and equally in any direction. The SPF-55 features a 5-inch polypropylene woofer and a 1-inch aluminum dome tweeter, while the SPF-85 comes with an 8-inch polypropylene woofer, and a 1-inch aluminum dome tweeter.

The SPF-55 and -85 also offer anti-theft capability due to a highly secure bracket positioned within the ground. These new omni-directional speakers are water-, UV- and scratch-resistant and are available in a stylish sandstone finish.

All Phase Technology speakers bear the signature Absolute Phase crossover technology, creating an exceptionally broad soundstage; and Low Level Linearity, which ensures treble and bass stay clear and dynamically balanced even at background levels. All Phase Technology speakers also carry the company’s outstanding 10-year warranty.

The SPF-55 speakers are priced at MSRP $350, and the SPF-85 speakers are priced at MSRP $400. Both products will be available in late March 2006.

About Phase Technology

Phase Technology Corporation (toll-free at 888-PHASE TK; website at www.phasetech.com) is one of the few fully-vertically integrated American speaker manufacturers. The company started as United Speaker Systems in 1955 as an original equipment manufacturer and still designs and produces its own sub-assemblies in-house. Phase Technology’s speaker lines incorporate many proprietary innovations like the soft-dome tweeter, the industry’s standard invented by Bill Hecht, founder of Phase Technology. Other patents cover the self-damping woofer voice coil, the manufacturing process for flat-piston midrange drivers and woofers, silicone-injected drivers for resonance damping, and the positive-clamping mounting system for the premier in-wall Model CI-110/II. The company also developed the Unicell Zero-Diffraction treatment that reduces acoustic reflections off cabinet and grille surfaces. Phase Technology manufactures its wood cabinets by hand and performs quality control tests at every step of the fabrication process.

Building on five decades of design and engineering innovation in the manufacture of high quality, yet affordable speakers, Phase Technology supports its products with a 10-year warranty on speakers, while amplifiers are backed by a 3-year warranty. Phase Technology’s digital home theater, audiophile, outdoor, in-wall/in-ceiling custom installation speakers, as well as powered and in-wall subwoofers are constructed at the company’s Jacksonville, Florida facility.
