Octasic SoftEcho: Bringing Carrier-Grade Echo Cancellation to the Mobile Community

– Octasic joins Microsoft’s Windows Embedded Partner Program –

MONTREAL, Quebec, April 30, 2007 — Octasic, the voice quality experts, today announced the release of SoftEcho for Mobile Phones. Equipped with Windows Embedded technology, SoftEcho will dramatically improve the call quality for mobile manufacturers and softphones running the Windows Mobile operating system, particularly evident when in hands-free mode.

“While many vendors try to bundle features to make their echo cancellation solution more desirable, our efforts are focused on improving call clarity,” said Fabio Gambacorta, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Octasic. “There is a clear difference between products utilizing SoftEcho for Mobile Phones and those that don’t.”

Octasic’s algorithm results in seamless transition from handset to speaker mode with no tweaking required. SoftEcho’s unique auto-tuning feature allows the product to adjust to any set-up, be it speaker, handset, or Bluetooth. The product provides flawless “double-talk” performance and its wideband support results in richer voice quality. In contrast, poor echo solutions will actually cause a degradation of voice quality over time.

In conjunction with the release of SoftEcho for Mobile Phones, Octasic also announced that they joined Microsoft’s Windows Embedded Partner Program (WEP). WEP is a strategic worldwide program focused on providing partnering and co-marketing opportunities to companies delivering products, services or solutions based on Microsoft Windows Embedded platforms.

Windows Embedded partners, with over 2,000 members in more than 60 countries, can be viewed as extensions of the company.
“SoftEcho for Mobile Phones will provide manufacturers in the Windows Embedded Community with the tools they need to offer higher quality product,” Gambacorta concluded. “Our affiliation with the Windows Embedded Partner Program solidifies our commitment to delivering the very best VoIP solution on the market.”
