Niles Audio Corporation today announced the appointment of Tom McCarthy to Vice President of Engineering and Product Development. A 25-year industry veteran, McCarthy offers Niles an extensive track record of bringing innovative home entertainment products to market faster, with the highest level of quality and dependability. Prior to joining Niles, McCarthy served as Advisor to the Chairman of the Board at D&M Holdings, where he played a key role in developing its technology strategy. At D&M Holdings he served as a member of its acquisition team and led the concept and development of a networked Home Entertainment System that won “Best Overall Product of the Year” at the Consumer Electronic Show in 2004. McCarthy also served as Director of Research and Development Operations at Bose.

“Tom is a crucial addition to the Niles team — to keep pushing our products ahead of the technology curve,” said Frank Sterns, president of Niles. “His experience enhances our mission to equip dealers with the most cutting-edge and reliable products they need to design and install systems that delight their customers,” Sterns added.

“What attracted me to Niles is their culture to relentlessly pursue being the best in everything they do,” said McCarthy. “That excites me and aligns with my own values. I look forward to joining this team and helping take our product line to the next level,” McCarthy added.

McCarthy will oversee several key areas of Niles’ production process including hardware, software, mechanical, manufacturing and program management.
