First announced in August 2022, the Monitor Audio Platinum 3G flagship speaker series is finally available in time for Monitor Audio’s 50th anniversary. The British loudspeaker manufacturer has become one of the largest and most successful brands in high-end audio and their award-winning products are extremely popular overseas.
Tbe Platinum Series 3G builds on Monitor Audio’s legacy of delivering high-fidelity sound for discerning listeners with several innovations. The 3G line is designed to be at home in both audio-only and home theater applications.
There are four models available so far:

- Platinum 200 3G Floortanding Speaker: $13,900 (pair)
- Platinum 100 3G Compact Bookshelf/Standmount Speaker: $6,900 (pair)

Key Features
Here is a brief overview of what all the speakers in the 3G line share.
3RD Gen MPD III Tweeters: These high-frequency transducers employ a Micro Pleated Diaphragm (MPD). Using a square radiating area, this design reduces distortion, widens pass-band capability, and flattens frequency response for a wider, cleaner more consistent, and lifelike Sound.
RDT III Cones: Used in the midrange and bass drivers, the RDT III Cones produce piston-like control even with the most extreme performances, providing a more precise, lifelike tonal balance and lower distortion.
Midrange Drivers: In addition to the cones, the midrange driver construction is optimized to ensure a completely smooth frequency transition with the tweeter. This is ideal for AV/Theater applications.
Crossovers: The crossovers are engineered to support the most exact and controlled sound performance across the full frequency spectrum.
Bi-Amp/Bi-Wire Connectivity: This provides the ability to connect the HF and LF drivers to separate amplifiers if desired.
Rear Port: The 300, 200, and 100 models include a rear-facing tuned port for added low-frequency response. The C250 model is a sealed cabinet design that does not feature a port.
Cabinet Design: The visually pleasing advanced cabinet design of the 3G series provides an acoustic eco-system that delivers comprehensive and accurate lifelike sound.
