Monitor Audio Features i-deck Personal Stereo System at CEDIA EXPO 2005

PICKERING, ONT — August 11, 2005 — Premier British speaker company Monitor Audio, announced it will introduce its new i-deck for iPod at this year’s CEDIA EXPO 2005 Home Technology Tradeshow, being held September 7-11 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Show attendees will be able to get a first look at the i-deck, as well as Monitor Audio’s impressive line of loudspeakers at Kevro’s Booth # 919. Kevro International Inc. is the exclusive North American distributor of Monitor Audio for over 20 years. A special press event will also be held during CEDIA EXPO 2005.

CEDIA EXPO is a great venue to debut such a fantastic product as the i-deck,” said Simon Spears, vice president of operations for Monitor Audio USA. “For custom integrators who are always looking for new entertainment solutions, the i-deck is an ideal way to provide high-quality music in places such as bedrooms, dens and small apartments.”

With the introduction of the i-deck, stateside music lovers riding the wave of the latest tech revolution can soup up their iPods with this revolutionary audio product. Monitor Audio’s i-deck transforms an iPod from a personal digital music player into a stereo sound system with powerful, room-filling audio quality and the sleek looks to match.

With a Euro-chic design that accommodates any decor, the i-deck’s separate speakers (7.5 high x 5.75 wide) produce breathtaking audio performance that belie their compact size. The i-deck’s functionality permits continuous playback when the user docks their iPod into the i-deck, so you no longer have to restart songs or playlists. Continuous Funk-tonality of mid-track playback is just one of a host of features that distinguishes the i-deck from other iPod docking stations.

The i-deck’s two-way speakers each have a bass driver and Monitor Audio’s trademark gold dome tweeter to create punchy bass and articulate high and mid frequency audio. The separate speakers can be placed next to the amplifier/dock or apart from it, giving listeners flexibility to set up the system in any room. The i-deck sports a credit card sized RF remote that can control the i-deck from anywhere in the house and the unit also recharges iPods during playback.

A perfect match for iPod, i-deck is provided with easily interchangeable bezels, making it an equally attractive home for iPod 3G, iPod 4G, iPod color, iPod mini and iPod Photo. A 30 pin port allows you to synchronize operation with your PC or Mac via USB or Firewire. An additional auxiliary input allows you to hook up a wide range of other equipment sources too, including iPod Shuffle, MiniDiscs, CD players, radios and more.

i-deck utilizes the latest Digital Amplifier technology with Digital IC’s and its own audiophile-quality Digital-to-Analog Converters (DACs). This process carries digital files directly to the i-deck’s volume control before converting to analog, resulting in virtually noise-free playback. The i-deck simply bypasses the iPod’s built-in DACs, and uses its own superior DACs to produce enhanced audio output. By streamlining the conversion process, the i-deck reduces noise distortion that occurs with other iPod companion players. The results are clear to hear, with easily differentiated performance levels for MP3 and AAC compression rates and with Apple lossless audio files.

Designed and manufactured by Monitor Audio, a company with a 30-year reputation in building high-end loudspeakers, the i-deck retails at a price starting at $349.
