Mitsubishi Announces 1080p Projector Featuring Silicon Optix HQX Video Processing

San Jose, CA–(Sept. 06, 2007)–Silicon Optix, the leader in advanced video processors, announced today that Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America, Inc. has raised the bar once again for price/performance with the introduction of its new HC6000 1080p projector. The HC6000 features the latest LCD technology and integrated Reon-VX HQV video processing from Silicon Optix for under $4000.

“Our HC5000 received amazing recognition and accolades in the press. One of the factors behind this success was the Silicon Optix HQV processing engine. It only made sense for us to continue on with this reference-class video processing in the HC6000,” said Wayne Kozuki, product manager, Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America’s Presentation Products Division.

Silicon Optix Emmy award winning HQV processing delivers the sharpest and most detailed HD images possible by utilizing features such true 1080i-to-1080p HD deinterlacing and a sophisticated multidirectional diagonal filter that ensures video free from jagged edges. HQV also does an incredible job of making SD material approach HD quality by employing advanced scaling, per-pixel detail enhancement and noise reduction technology that removes noise and artefacts caused by compression.

Mitsubishi has improved its HC6000’s auto iris function for quicker black to light imaging, and increased its contrast ratio to 13,000:1. This combination allows for dynamic and seamless transitions between light and dark scenes and sharper overall details in dark areas, even in fast action spaceship scenes or classic film noir.

The projector’s 3LCD technology delivers outstanding color, amazing detail and road-tested reliability. Using an advanced, three-panel design, Mitsubishi’s HC6000 produces both rich and vibrant colors with extraordinary detail for outstanding picture quality.

“Mitsubishi is breaking new ground by delivering 1080p projection along with HQV processing for under $4000,” said Jim Mannos, President and CEO, Silicon Optix. “We are delighted to be working with one of the true experts in projection.”

Pricing, Availability and Warranty
The suggested price of Mitsubishi’s new HC6000 is under $4000 and will be available in October through authorized Mitsubishi dealers. The projector comes with Mitsubishi’s two-year limited warranty on parts and labor plus a 90-day limited warranty on the lamp.
