All-in-One On-Ear & Over-Ear Headphone with Bluetooth
Master & Dynamic has introduced new wireless headphones (model MW50+) that have replaceable magnetic ear pads to enable use in an on-ear or over-ear configuration. This flexibility could be good for people who are not sure which style is right for them.
The $399 MW50+ is the exact same headphone as the previously available MW50 on-ear only version, combined with cost savings of the MW60 over-ear only headphone. For those, that don’t care about Bluetooth wireless, but like the looks, there’s the Master & Dynamic MH30 on-ear or MH40 over-ear wired models.
The MW50+ brings the benefits of both form factors into a single product. By gently releasing the luxurious, magnetically attached lambskin and memory foam ear pads, users can switch between the two sets of ear pads, providing seamless versatility with uncompromising acoustic performance. In the on-ear configuration, the MW50+ is a more mobile headphone providing rich and expansive sound on-the-go. Swap to the over-ear for full sound isolation, transformative focus, productivity or relaxation.
The MW50+ features custom 40mm beryllium drivers — a material with superior acoustic qualities — to create a rich, detailed, and expansive sound profile. A patented milled aluminum external antenna 100 feet of wireless range for listening without a cable. But you will need the included heavy-duty woven USB-C cable for re-charging after 16-hours of battery life runs out.
The MW50+ also boasts premium leathers, stainless steel, aluminum, and discrete, tactile buttons similar to those found in luxury timepieces that allow users to control volume and pause, play or repeat a song. The company says every detail was considered, including the elegant and convenient ear pad storage case.
