LSU AgCenters LaHouse Features HAI Equipment

HAI, leading manufacturer of integrated automation and security products since 1985, is a Gold Key sponsor of the LSU “LaHouse” located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The Louisiana House — Home and Landscape Resource Center, better known as LaHouse, is a family-type home designed to showcase innovations in home construction for Louisiana’s sub-tropical climate and provide a model for the public to learn about technological advances in home building. HAI was selected as the sole home control partner, providing an OmniPro II home automation system, Omnsitat2 programmable communicating thermostats, HLC (HAI Lighting Control) smart switches, and OmniTouch Touchscreens to control the lights, temperatures, and security within the home. The LaHouse also includes the Hi-Fi by HAI Multi-Room Audio system to provide music entertainment throughout the house.

“Both consumers and professionals can see first-hand and learn about many solutions — from ways to protect their homes from hurricanes, floods, mold and termites to the employment of highly energy efficient and healthy building, air conditioning and lighting systems to interiors that combine beauty, comfort and convenience with eco-friendly benefits,” said Claudette Reichel, LSU AgCenter housing specialist.

Thomas Pickral, Jr., HAI Director of Business Development, stated “HAI is always looking for ways to work with educational institutions that are helping to get the message out about how technology can make your home more energy efficient and the LaHouse is an excellent partner to work with in this endeavor. The LaHouse is a rare opportunity for the building industry and the public to see technology that is available today to make their home more sustainable. We are very proud to work with the LSU AgCenter on this project.”

The home is open on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., on Thursdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. As part of the AgCenter’s educational mission, LaHouse includes a high-tech teaching center in what appears to be home’s garage for seminars and workshops.

HAI and CWS, an HAI Five Star Dealer from Baton Rouge, participated together as Gold Key Sponsors of the house. For more information please visit www.homeauto.com or http://www.lsuagcenter.com/en/family_home/home/la_house/.
