Logicworks Managed Database Service Helps Clients Deploy and Maintain Business-Driven, No Transactions Lost Applications

NEW YORK, NY — April 3, 2007 — Logicworks, a provider of enterprise-level managed services and hosting solutions to support business-critical applications, today announced the launch of its Managed Database Service (MDBS). The “No Transactions Lost” Managed Database Service provides Logicworks’ customers with value-added technical expertise to ensure their hosted, data-driven applications are always online and operational. The service is designed to augment and complement –not replace– the capabilities of in-house technical personnel that support Microsoft, Oracle and MySQL database environments.

“As organizations deploy specialized and highly complex applications to support their operations, it is necessary to design and maintain the appropriate infrastructure that ensures no transactions are ever lost,” said Carter Burden, CEO of Logicworks. “Complementing our robust data center operations, the Managed Database Service provides an added layer of technical expertise to keep pace with the growing needs of businesses.”

The Managed Database Service utilizes clustering, mirroring, replication, or dynamic failover configurations to make sure Microsoft, Oracle and MySQL applications are always available, even in the event of hardware failure. It also offers support for the database layer and mirrored dedicated SAN storage. As part of the service, Logicworks continuously monitors the health of the application and infrastructure to guarantee 99.999 percent network uptime, and 100 percent database availability, while zero database transactions are lost in the event of any failures.

“Our database is the circulatory system of our member experience and keeping it running properly is tantamount to heart health”, said Paul Cimino, CTO of QualityHealth.com, a site that sees 3.5 million database heavy consumer experiences per month. “Downtime translates into the financial loss, erosion of invaluable business intelligence and most importantly, it disappoints and alienates our audience. Logicworks’ Managed Database Service offers me peace of mind. Knowing that my database is ‘heart’ healthy is like a good checkup from my cardiologist.”

Logicworks’ team of database professionals are vendor-certified OCMs, MCDBAs, and MySQL Professionals and have a vast experience with RAC; DataGuard; Streams; Active/Active, Active/Standby, Active/Passive failover clustering; replication, and other critical-availability, optimization and maintenance functions.

“As the leading destination for high-end New York City real estate, there are three things that are key to our success: our Web site, the application and the database uptime,” says Vincent D’Agostino, Web Operations Manager for Brown Harris Stevens and Halstead Property. “Logicworks’ services helped us scale to meet rapid growth, and allowed me a piece of mind knowing that skilled DBAs are monitoring and managing my clustered database environment.”

Logicworks supports a broad range of clients in the media, entertainment, healthcare, financial services, digital content and publishing, advertising, high-tech, education, and communications markets.

The Managed Database Service provides a monthly flat-fee pricing model available for Oracle 10g, Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005 (Standard and Enterprise), and MySQL 4.x/5.x environments.

Logicworks will be exhibiting at the upcoming MySQL Conference & Expo, April 23rd -26th 2007 in Santa Clara, California.
