LG Announces QNED evo 4K TVs for 2025 with Wireless and AI

Bigger screens, elevated processing, better sound, wireless connectivity, and WebOS enhancements highlight LG’s 2025 QNED evo TVs.

2025 LG QNED 4K TV Lifestyle

LG has just announced its new lineup of premium QNED evo TVs coming in 2025 in sizes from 40 to 100 inches in diagonal. LG’s QNED technology combines a LCD panel with LED backlighting and its QNED line sits one-step below LG’s top-of-the-line OLED TVs.

Select QNED models QNED99 (8K) and QNED92 (4K) also include Mini LED backlighting with Precision Dimming technology for enhanced control of dark and bright objects on the screen. Non-mini LED QNED models (QNED9M, QNED85, and QNED82) also use local dimming technology but with standard LED backlighting. Although not as precise, the result is still good for many viewers.

For 2025, LG is replacing Quantum Dots with a new Dynamic QNED Color Solution said to display a wider color gamut with purer colors than previous QNED TV models. With Dynamic QNED Color Solution, the entire 2025 QNED evo lineup is 100 percent certified by global testing and certification organization Intertek for Color Volume, measuring a screen’s ability to display the rich colors of original images without distortion.

Tip: Information on LG’s 2025 OLED TV line is still forthcoming.

Wireless Option

For 2025, LG will also unveil the QNED evo (QNED9M) featuring True Wireless 4K technology. Previously exclusive to the top-tier OLED evo model (M Series), this wireless connectivity option is now filtering into the QNED evo product line.

The QNED evo TV wireless option allows viewers to view up to 4K UHD resolution content wirelessly via an innovative and convenient Zero Connect Box, without compromising picture quality or experiencing delays, moving beyond the wire clutter of wired connections.

Gaming Support

The QNED9M supports a refresh rate of 144Hz (great for gamers). In addition, the QNED9M is AMD FreeSync Premium certified. The TV display requires only a power cord, allowing for more convenient storage of gaming consoles and set-top boxes.

AI Processing

AI is the buzzword this year, and that includes LG QNED evo TVs. 2025 QNED evo models incorporate the α8 AI Processor, offering close to 70 percent improvement in AI performance compared to 2024. This processor is designed to get the most in picture and sound quality for ultra-large screen TV screen sizes.

The AI processing includes more advanced upscaling, analyzing the filmmaker’s intent to adjust picture noise, and presenting faces, objects, text, and backgrounds more naturally.

Dynamic Tone Mapping Pro breaks down each scene to fine-tune HDR effects and brightness for each zone.

For sound, AI converts 2-channel sound sources to virtual 9.1.2-channel sound for a more immersive audio experience. It also distinguishes voices from background sounds and makes them clearer, while audio sounds natural as if it were coming from the center of the TV screen.

AI Magic Remote

For 2025, LG has a new AI Magic Remote for its QNED evo TVs. The remote’s AI button provides an analysis of viewing preferences and recommendations on what to watch and which apps to use.

Personalization is further enhanced by Voice ID, Generative AI Gallery, and customized TV picture and sound quality modes.

A short press of the AI button also guides users to relevant keywords and TV features, while a long press enables personalized searches based on a large language model (LLM4).

For example, if a user is planning a trip to France, they can ask their remote, “Recommend movies to watch on my trip to Paris.” The AI will understand the context and suggest movies set in the French capital, including specific genre recommendations based on the user’s viewing preferences.

WebOS 25

LG’s WebOS smart TV platform has been updated to version 25. It now offers hyper-personalized service advancements and content through its best-of-all-time AI features and the ongoing webOS. webOS will receive upgrades for the  five years.

From Young-sei Park, president of the LG Media Entertainment Solution Company: “Our renewed 2025 LG QNED evo lineup inherits OLED’s differentiated picture quality along with a true wireless viewing experience and ultra-personalized solutions to deliver an outstanding super-large viewing experience that no other LCD TV can offer,”

Bottom Line

There are two important trends in the TV market for 2025: AI and Extra Large Screens. LG is steering ahead of the game by incorporating AI elements in all facets of TV operation, but they are playing catch up in terms of TVs with extra large screens – and, of course, the price point for those sets are going to be important.

Right now TCL is the leader in 90-inch and larger TVs followed closely by Hisense (both are China-based companies). Can Korea-based LG and its rival Samsung (also Korea-based) meet this challenge?

We also have to see what LG has in store for us with its OLED TV models.

All should be revealed at the forthcoming CES in early January 2025.

Availability & Pricing

There is no word on the specific release date for LG’s 2025 model QNED evo TVs, nor have any details on specific screen sizes and model series pricing been revealed. As more information becomes available it will either be added to this article or new article will be posted.
