LG’s First-Ever THX Certified LED LCD HDTV Features Mega Contrast LED for Enhanced Picture Quality
Redefining the LED LCD HDTV landscape, the newest HDTVs from LG Electronics are the first LCDs to receive THX Display Certification in the U.S. market. LG’s new LH90 series, available now through national retailers such as Best Buy and other leading electronics dealers, offer consumers advanced picture quality, smart energy savings and stylish design.
“Creating a new era in LCD technology the THX-Certified LH90 blends style, sophistication and visual performance, sending a clear message to consumers about LG’s commitment to picture quality and innovation,” said Peter Reiner, senior vice president, marketing and strategy, LG Electronics USA, Inc. “LG’s advanced LED Backlight technology precisely controls the brightness of specific areas of the screen, providing crisper, clearer pictures while using less energy than traditional LCD models.”
Advanced Picture Quality
Previewed at the International Consumer Electronics Show earlier this year, the new LH90 series of LCD HDTVs features full-array LED backlighting with 2,000,000:1 Mega Contrast for unsurpassed picture quality and color detail. The LH90 employs local dimming technology for precise automatic picture control, resulting in deeper blacks and wider color gamut. The addition of TruMotion 240Hz technology ensures smooth motion even during fast-action sports and movie scenes. Built-in THX Movie Mode on the LH90 provides consumers with a one-button solution for experiencing studio color, black levels and clean signal processing.
Energy Savings
For consumers looking for HDTVs that also provide energy and cost savings, the LH90 meets the latest Energy Star 3.0 specifications. With LG’s “Smart Energy Saving” package, which consists of features such as backlight control options and video mute, LG is paving the way toward energy saving while also allowing consumers to customize their viewing experience.
The LH90 is equipped with a range of features to reduce energy output including LG’s Intelligent Sensor, which automatically senses the ambient light in the room and adjusts color and brightness accordingly. With ISFccc certification the LH90 allows for further professional calibration of settings based on the room environment and personal preferences.
The LH90 is available in 55-, 47-, and 42-inch class sizes* and a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $3,199.95, $2,399.95, and $1,899.95 respectively.
