KEF Highlights Broad Product Array at CEDIA Expo 2005

MARLBORO, NJ — August 11, 2005 — Continuing with its heritage of outstanding audio performance and ingenious engineering, KEF is showcasing the newest additions to its world-class product line at CEDIA EXPO 2005. KEF will display its home audio entertainment speakers and systems in Booth #354 at the tradeshow, which is being held September 9-11 in Indianapolis, Indiana. In addition to existing product families, KEF will display a new KEF Instant Theatre KIT200 audio system, the revolutionary new in-wall Ci9000ACEloudspeaker, the next generation of the award-winning Q Series, the stylish KHT6000ACE System, and the innovative Ci Series of motorized loudspeakers, which dramatically improve performance via directionally optimized, automatic speaker positioning.

CEDIA EXPO attendees recognize the hallmarks of truly high-quality audio coupled with innovative applications and solutions, so we’re always excited to demonstrate our newest technologies at the show,” said Alec Chanin, president of KEF America. “We bring an impressive product lineup to CEDIA EXPO, sure to please even the most discerning audiophiles.”

Additionally, KEF America warmly welcomes the press for a private event that will be held at KEF’s booth #354 on Friday, September 9 from 2:00 pm — 3:00 pm, and will feature an up close and personal look at the company’s latest loudspeaker offerings and recent company news.

The KEF Instant Theatre KIT200 System builds on the success of its predecessor, the KIT100 System. Featuring five slim profile speakers, a 10-inch powered subwoofer, and a full-featured head unit including a DVD player, the KIT200–in a stunning gloss black finish–provides a complete home theater package. And its remarkable ease of set-up and use fully lives up to the “Instant” in its name.

The new Ci 9000 ACE proves that a single speaker can satisfy both true audiophiles and decor-conscious homeowners. With a flush-to-wall installation, the speaker disappears within the surrounding decor, putting the focus on the sound. KEF’s exclusive Uni-Q driver and innovative ACE technology bring striking clarity and body to movie sound and musical recordings.

Each speaker in the new Q Series has been upgraded with new driver materials and surrounds, as well as proven technologies from the flagship Reference line. The result is sound that is precisely dispersed from each driver on a single axis and over a much broader area. This new family represents the cutting edge of audio entertainment with a design concept that is based on both superb function and aesthetic elegance.

The KHT 6000 ACE System is loaded with pioneering technologies, such as the revolutionary Uni-Q driver array, the flexible Selecta-mount mounting system, which automatically optimizes sound whether speakers are mounted on the wall or on floor stands, and KEF’s proprietary ACE technology. Every aspect of the system’s design has been engineered to look and sound stunning, complementing any home’s decor.

The Ci 3-80QT is the only in-ceiling speaker that automatically extends down from its flush-mounted position to directly project sound toward listeners. In addition to motorized positioning, the speaker uses KEF’s own Uni-Q driver to create a widely dispersed and lifelike soundstage. With the introduction of the Ci 3-80QT, KEF gives home entertainment system installers the power to design a virtually invisible home theater that truly rivals the performance of free-standing speakers.

KEF’s Ci FDT is an ingenious in-wall loudspeaker that lies flush within the wall when not in use, and features a motorized, flat-panel, di-pole driver that automatically extends outward to evenly deliver surround effects throughout the entire room. The Ci FDT’s combination of genuinely unobtrusive installation and advanced audio engineering creates a highly immersive film experience with performance well beyond that of stationary in-wall speakers.
