Intra-Office Mobile Projectors Offers Big Images from Short Distances in a Small Package

InFocus Corp. today announced the introduction of a new series of short-throw projectors perfect for small and medium-sized businesses. The IN1500 series combines powerful close-up projection with a compact form, making it the ideal solution for offices where space is a luxury. The short throw lens, with 20 percent optical zoom, allows for edge-of-table projection, which frees up tabletop space and eliminates table clutter and shadows during presentations.

“We created the IN1500 series to be shared from room-to-room in the offices of small- to medium-sized companies,” said Loren Shaw, product line director at InFocus. “Many businesses need one projector in their office to serve a variety of functions; this projector has robust connectivity, is easily portable and can sit at the edge of a desk or table and still throw a large, high-quality picture from short distances.”

This new class of projectors allows users to place the projector anywhere from 2.5 to 11.5 feet (0.8 to 3.5 meters) away from the screen to produce a clear picture for any application – from presentations to group meetings. A 20 percent optical zoom allows for high flexibility to resize the image without moving the projector. The IN1500 series features Texas Instruments DLP chip technology with BrilliantColor™ and an 1800:1 native contrast ratio, producing a crisp picture in any sized boardroom or office, even with the lights on.

“As a video processing company, image quality is a crucial aspect of our collaborations,” said Troy Unverdruss, senior IT manager of Elemental Technologies, a leading provider of massively parallel processing solutions for video applications. “The IN1503 is the perfect projector for our teams to share, and the edge-of-table projection with its compact form factor enables maximum flexibility, even in tight spaces.”

Lightweight, quiet, portable and powerful, the IN1500 series displays industry-leading picture quality with a maximum brightness of 3,000 lumens and native resolutions of up to WXGA. Loaded with the InFocus plug-and-project suite of digital connections, including DisplayLink™, HDMI 1.3 and LitePort™ PC-free presenter, the IN1500 series is the most versatile and digitally capable mobile projector on the market.

Availability
The InFocus IN1500 series will be available in early October and comes with a five year industry-leading warranty for added peace of mind and lower cost of ownership.
