HP just announced the 12-megapixel PW550 digital camera with 5X optical zoom. With its 28mm wide-angle lens, you can capture panoramic views in detail. The PW550 is an excellent choice for taking pictures that are wider or taller, e.g. group pictures, landscapes, and tall buildings.
28mm wide-angle lens
Featuring a 28mm wide-angle lens, the PW550 allows you to fit more scenery into a shot. The wide-angle lens is ideal for taking pictures of panoramic landscapes and tall subjects.
5X Optical Zoom
Use the 5X Optical Zoom to magnify and capture sharp images when taking pictures from a distance. It brings subjects closer and enables you to see crisp details that would not otherwise be visible.
Smile Detection
With smile detection, the camera will search for a smile and automatically take the picture when it detects that the subject is smiling. This feature is especially helpful when trying to capture pictures of young children smiling in front of the camera.
Blink Detection
When using the blink detection feature, the camera alerts you if a subject is blinking when the picture is taken. The camera will then prompt you to either keep or delete the picture, allowing you the opportunity to retake pictures as you deem necessary.
Over 25 scene modes
With over 25 scene modes, you can easily ensure the best shot is captured in different shooting situations. Pick the mode that best matches your activity or use the Intelligent scene mode to let the camera detect the conditions and select the best mode for you.
Use the portrait mode to make the background less distracting for perfect pictures focused on your loved ones. Select Snow mode on your next ski trip to transform overly bright washed out pictures into vibrantly colored photos of the slopes and snow capped mountains.
