Our review of the HiFiMAN SVANAR ($499) Wireless earphones is coming this week and it will be interesting to see if the new SVANAR Wireless LE ($299) and SVANAR Wireless Jr ($179) address some of the issues that arose and created mixed feelings about them.

HiFiMAN clearly sees some daylight in the wireless earbud category which is already oversaturated; the wireless earbud category is projected to grow to over $20 billion by the end of 2024 so it’s not hard to understand their optimism.

The new products are significantly more affordable and that makes sense based on the sales data; 99% of the market exists below $400 USD and Apple controls a huge slice of that pie.

The biggest differences between the two new models is that the LE has the same Hymalaya DAC as the reference model, but the Jr does not. However, the Jr has both types of noise cancelling and can also play LDAC files.

SVANAR Wireless LE

The new SVANAR Wireless LE ($299) is a full range high-performance Bluetooth 5.2 earbud that features a custom version of HIFIMAN’s Hymalaya multi-bit ladder DAC/AMP module that results in clearly audible sonic improvements over standard wireless receivers built-in 1-bit DAC chips.

Combined with the headphone amplifier module, the SVANAR Wireless LE claims to bring a sense of realism and a wide soundstage to audio streamed from smartphones, tablets, Digital Audio Players (DAP), and any Bluetooth device.

In addition to the Hymalaya DAC, SVANAR Wireless LE features HIFIMAN Electronics’ Topology Diaphragm: each earbud’s diaphragm, which converts mechanical vibrations to sound, is covered with a Nano particle coating that contributes to significantly greater sonic detail than is typically associated with True Wireless earphones.

SVANAR Wireless LE is designed to be enjoyed on-the-go, with ANC Deep Noise Cancellation that accurately identifies and eliminates noise up to -35dB. Also, SVANAR Wireless LE is IPX5-rated for resistance to sweat and dirt over hours of uninterrupted activity.

The frequency range of SVANAR Wireless LE is 10Hz to 35KHz.

The on-board amp output is rated at 45mW. Average battery time is four-to-seven hours, depending upon usage. The earbuds, each of which weigh 8 grams, can be charged three times before needing to recharge the case.

At $179, SVANAR Wireless Jr claims many same sonic benefits thanks to HIFIMAN’s Topology Diaphragm and Class AB amplifier that boasts the high efficiency output and low distortion.

Two noise canceling technologies — ANC Deep Noise Cancellation and ENC Deep Voice Cancellation combine to create one of the most effective noise canceling systems in personal audio. ANC accurately identifies and eliminates noise up to -35dB.

To keep voice calls clear and clutter-free, ENC relies on artificial intelligence that simulates the human auditory system, extracting the human voice while filtering out extraneous noise.

The full range, high-performance Bluetooth 5.2 earbud is IPX5 water resistant, making it the perfect companion when engaging in active sports for hours at a time. Svanar Wireless Jr is compatible with the high-resolution LDAC codec, for true high fidelity output when streaming from a compatible source device.

The frequency range of SVANAR Wireless Jr is 10Hz to 35KHz. The on-board amp output is rated at 45mW, and maximum output is 50mW@32 THD+N: 1%.

The fully charged SVANAR Wireless Jr battery lasts a substantial 4 to 7 hours, depending upon usage. The SVANAR Wireless Jr weigh 8 grams and can be charged 3 times before one needs to recharge the charging case.
