Home Automation, Inc. (HAI), leading manufacturer of integrated security and home automation products has announced the improved integration between HAI’s Lumina central lighting and home automation product line and Tyco’s DSC PowerSeries security panels, allowing Touchscreen control and energy management.

With the award-winning integration (Best Security Product, Consumer Electronic Associations’ TechHome Mark of Excellence Award) the Lumina or Lumina Pro can trigger events from the DSC security zones when they are opened or closed such as turning the foyer light on when the front door is open if it is dark. The Lumina or Lumina Pro can also trigger events when the DSC PowerSeries security panel goes into alarm such as turning on all inside and outside lights when a burglar or fire alarm is tripped.

The latest feature of this integration provides the ability to control the DSC PowerSeries security panels from HAI’s OmniTouch 5.7e in-wall Touchscreen and OmniTouch 10p wireless Touchscreen. A graphic screen is projected, replicating the DSC keypad.

For energy efficiency, the Lumina or Lumina Pro can change modes when the DSC PowerSeries security panel is armed or disarmed. When leaving the house and arming the DSC alarm in the AWAY mode, the Lumina or Lumina Pro will automatically set back thermostats and turn off lights. Additionally the integration allows the arming or disarming of the DSC PowerSeries security panel over the Internet via HAI’s award-winning Snap-Link software.

For entertainment, activate a preferred radio station upon typing in the DSC security code on an HAI OmniTouch IP-based Touchscreen. All audio zones turn off when leaving the home. The Hi-Fi by HAI multi-room audio system requires no programming and is simple to install, a perfect fit for security installers looking to easily expand their business.

Additional security and automation features can be provided when integrating HAI’s access control product line. Swiping a card upon entrance to a building or a specific room can deactivate security and trigger a long list of preferred lighting, audio, and temperature settings.

HAI’s controller firmware has support for DSC PowerSeries security panels for the Lumina and Lumina Pro home control systems. The Lumina and Lumina Pro and DSC PowerSeries security panel integration is over a serial connection. The Lumina and Lumina Pro support all DSC PowerSeries security panel models and require either the DSC IT-100 integration module or DSC PC5401 serial adapter. The Lumina supports up to 32 security zones from the DSC PowerSeries security panel and the Lumina Pro supports up to 64 security zones from the DSC PowerSeries security panel.

“The new ability to control the DSC PowerSeries security panel from an HAI OmniTouch IP-based Touchscreen provides a great up-sell opportunity for DSC installers,” explains Brian Yokum, HAI Chief Technology Officer. “The Touchscreen integration furthers the ability to provide access control, lighting control, energy management, and audio/video control to DSC installations, as well as the capability to provide remote access with HAI Snap-Link.”

HAI products are available through a worldwide network of Distributors and installing Dealers in over 80 countries.
