Extension Solution from Gefen Supports Latest HDTV Interfaces, Uses Fiber Optics for Long Distance Performance

WOODLAND HILLS, CA – Nov 11, 2004 – The new ex-tend-it HDMI-1000 HD from Gefen sends high definition video up to 300 feet from the source to the HDTV. It’s equipped with HDMI (high definition multimedia interface) connectors for compatibility with newly released HD DVDs, satellite set top boxes, TiVo and plasma displays that use HDMI. When paired with a small adapter, it can be used with sources and displays that use DVI (digital visual interface) connectors.

Multi-mode LC fiber optic cables, available in varying lengths from Gefen, connect a sender unit at the source to a receiver at the display end. An external power supply, which can be connected at either end, feeds the system.

The HDMI-1000 HD supports multiple HD resolutions up to 1080p (1920×1200 for computers), and is in complete compliance with HDCP (high bandwidth digital content protection) standards.

Designed for both consumer and commercial applications, the HDMI-1000 HD can be tailored with custom extension cuts. Gefen also supplies Extender Kits with pre-cut lengths of 60, 100, 150 and 300 feet.

Additional information is available online at www.gefen.com. The HDMI-1000 HD ($899) may be purchased direct or through a Gefen reseller, listed online.
