TSS-1200, TSS-800 and TSS-500: Stunning New Design, Exceptional Performance and Versatility

Since its introduction, Infinity’s Total Solutions series has earned rave reviews worldwide from consumers, critics and dealers. The TSS-1200, TSS-800 and TSS-500 take the Total Solutions concept to an entirely new design level, combining styling that is evocative of the company’s flagship Infinity Cascade loudspeakers with outstanding sound quality and installation flexibility.

The TSS-1200, TSS-800 and TSS-500 packages include four satellite speakers, a center channel loudspeaker and a powered subwoofer. All systems feature advanced drivers and components; the TSS-800 and TSS-1200 systems incorporate Infinity’s acclaimed MMD driver technology to deliver exceptional fidelity and resolution.

All three systems are distinctively contemporary in appearance. The wall-mountable satellites and center channel feature top and side panels with curved and contoured surfaces, and the subwoofer’s rounded enclosure complements the other loudspeakers in the system. Available in a platinum or charcoal finish, the systems perfectly complement ultrathin rear-projection TVs and flat-panel video displays.

The TSS-1200 and TSS-800 utilize exclusive MMD drivers, manufactured by anodizing both sides of an aluminum woofer cone or tweeter dome to a controlled thickness, producing lightweight, rigid driver diaphragms that minimize distortion and provide extraordinary transient response and tonal accuracy. The TSS-500 system utilizes high-performance dome tweeters and cone woofers to achieve clear and dynamic movie soundtrack and music reproduction.

All Total Solutions systems offer exceptionally versatile installation flexibility. The satellites and center channel can be shelf- or wall-mounted, using either their supplied fixed- or adjustable wall-mount brackets, and optional matching floor stands for the satellites are available.

Suggested retail pricing for the Infinity Total Solutions loudspeaker systems is as follows: TSS-1200, SRP: $1,299; TSS-800, SRP: $899; TSS-500, SRP: $549. All systems will begin shipping in October 2006.

Infinity Primus Series: Setting a New Standard in High-Performance Loudspeaker Value

At CEDIA 2006, Infinity Systems is introducing its redesigned Primus Series loudspeaker lineup, featuring refined styling with an elegant appearance that complements any home entertainment system and decor. The seven Primus Series models incorporate Infinity’s MMD driver technology to deliver superb sound quality at prices that offer outstanding value.

The Primus Series includes two wall-mount/bookshelf monitors (models P142, P152); a compact bookshelf loudspeaker (model P162); two floorstanding towers (models P252, P262) and two center channel loudspeakers (models PC250, PC350). Prices for the Primus Series range from $99 to $349 each (SRP).

Primus Series loudspeakers utilize Infinity’s proven MMD technology to provide the ideal combination of natural vocal and instrumental reproduction, a smooth tonal balance and expansive, room-filling sound. Each tweeter, midrange driver and woofer is optimized for its particular application, with internal resonances virtually eliminated within each driver’s frequency range for maximum sonic clarity. All tweeters are mounted in a specially shaped recessed waveguide that provides precise imaging, even frequency response and controlled directivity over a wide listening area. Primus Series models are designed utilizing the company’s room-friendly design principles, which ensure they will provide sonically accurate performance in the widest variety of listening environments and placement positions.

Primus Series loudspeakers feature rich black-ash-finish enclosures, accented by light-silver grilles that have gracefully tapered top surfaces. The speakers look equally appealing with the grilles off, presenting a high-tech look with metallic-silver MMD drivers mounted in matching bezels.

Infinity Primus Series loudspeakers will be available in fall 2006.

Infinity’s PS Series Subwoofers: The Ideal Match to the Primus Series

Infinity’s PS Series subwoofers have been restyled to complement the Primus Series. Three models — the PS-28 (8-inch woofer, 150 watts, SRP: $329), the PS-210 (10-inch woofer, 300 watts, SRP: $429) and the PS-212 (12-inch woofer, 400 watts, SRP: $549) are making their debut at CEDIA 2006. All PS Series subwoofers utilize MMD woofers, high-efficiency amplifiers and tuned enclosures to deliver articulate, extended low-frequency response, making them ideal for use with the Primus Series or to complete a multichannel home theater loudspeaker system. Infinity PS Series subwoofers will be available in fall 2006.

Infinity Cascade: A Breakthrough In Loudspeaker Design and Performance

Among high-performance loudspeakers, Infinity’s Cascade Series truly stands apart, offering a compelling combination of beautiful design, unmatched installation flexibility and superlative sound. Winner of an Innovations 2006 Design and Engineering Award, an Electronic House 2006 Product of the Year Award and additional honors, Cascade loudspeakers feature unique slim-profile styling, with curved, sculptured surfaces and a choice of rich real-wood cherry veneer, high-gloss black and high-gloss silver finishes.

Currently available at authorized Infinity dealers and custom-installation specialists, Cascade loudspeakers are featured in continuous active demonstrations in a 7.1-channel system at CEDIA 2006. The Infinity Cascade line includes the Model Three V on-wall/bookshelf loudspeaker, Model Three C center channel loudspeaker with wall-mount capability, Model Five on-wall/bookshelf loudspeaker, Model Seven floorstanding loudspeaker, Model Nine floorstanding loudspeaker, Model Twelve powered subwoofer and Model Fifteen powered subwoofer. Suggested retail prices range from $699 to $1,499 each.

To achieve their unprecedented sonic accuracy and musicality, Cascade employs Infinity’s most advanced engineering innovations, including proprietary Maximum Radiating Surface (MRS) flat-panel transducer technology utilizing Infinity’s patented Ceramic Metal Matrix Diaphragm (CMMD) material; a CMMD tweeter with frequency response that extends beyond 40kHz, and the company’s exclusive Room Adaptive Bass Optimization System (R.A.B.O.S.). The MRS driver incorporates a host of technical and design breakthroughs that enables it to operate more like an ideal pistonic radiator, with more accurate time alignment, than that provided by cone loudspeakers, for unmatched clarity and image specificity. Equally important, the MRS driver’s narrow rectangular shape and thin depth allow Cascade enclosures to have a much slimmer profile than that of conventional loudspeakers.

This combination of sleek, attractive design, remarkable performance and numerous installation options makes Cascade perfect for a wide range of home entertainment systems and custom installations, including architectural and designer applications where uncompromising audio performance is required, yet where the speakers must blend with the most elegant living environments.

ERS Series and CS Series In-Wall Speakers: Ideal for Custom-Installation Home Theaters

At CEDIA 2006, Infinity is exhibiting its acclaimed ERS Series high-performance in-wall and in-ceiling speaker lineup. It features five models that utilize Infinity’s patented CMMD drivers and tweeters that are mounted in frames designed for optimum directivity, to deliver sound quality far superior to that of typical in-wall loudspeakers. The ERS Series includes two in-wall speakers (models ERS HV250, ERS 210II); and three in-ceiling speakers (models ERS 310, ERS 110II and the dual-tweeter ERS 110DT, which provides two-channel audio from a single-speaker configuration). The ERS HV250 features horizontal or vertical mounting, making it ideal for in-wall center channel applications.

ERS Series models are packaged and sold individually, giving customers and installers the flexibility to choose the exact number and type of speakers needed to complete any stereo music, multichannel home theater or multiroom system and tailor their in-wall home entertainment installations to their specific needs. All models can also be used as the surround speakers in a system based around Infinity’s Cascade, Primus or Infinity Beta Series loudspeakers.

The ERS Series lineup includes a number of purpose-designed models. For example, the dual-woofer ERS HV250 can be mounted either horizontally, for use as the center channel of a home theater system, or vertically, for use as left and right front and surround speakers. When mounted horizontally, it fits inside the standard 16-inch spacing that is used between most wall studs, so no cutting of the studs is required. The ERS 110DT dual-tweeter speaker provides two-channel audio from a single-speaker configuration, making it perfect for applications where space is limited, yet where expansive stereo sound is desired.

Infinity’s high-value CS Series in-wall and in-ceiling speakers bring renowned Infinity sound quality to popular price points. Like the ERS Series, all CS Series models are packaged individually, facilitating use in any custom-installation application. They are also ideal for use as surround speakers with systems that include Infinity Primus Series or Infinity Beta Series loudspeakers. The CS Series includes two in-wall speakers (models CS50, CS60); and three in-ceiling speakers (models CS60R, the dual-tweeter CS60RDT, and the CS80R).

Every CS Series model incorporates refinements such as premium metal-laminate-dome tweeters that are mounted in a pivoting housing that enables them to be aimed for best sound coverage in any installation, and metal-laminate woofers that provide a richly detailed midrange and powerful bass response.

All ERS Series and CS Series loudspeakers are designed for ease of installation in both new homes and existing rooms. They include built-in mounting tabs, and their baffles and grilles can be painted to match any decor. Optional rough-in frames are available for preconstruction installation. In addition, the
ERS HV250 and ERS 210 feature an IR cutout, enabling an IR repeater to be conveniently placed inside the speaker.
