Electronic House Magazine Names ELANs Ole` As A 2006 Product Of The Year

Leading Consumer Magazine Recognizes Revolutionary New Ole`
Film Interactive Touchpad

LEXINGTON, KY — ELAN Home Systems, a leading manufacturer of award-winning Multi-Room audio/video and home automation systems, today announced that Electronic House Magazine has named the company’s revolutionary and highly anticipated Ole` Film Interactive Touchpad as one of its Electronic House Products of the Year for 2006.

Scheduled for full unveiling at CEDIA 2006 in Denver after shipping first production units in August, ELAN’s introduction of its Ole` Film Interactive Touchpad establishes a completely new interface product category and marks yet another game-changing industry-first for the company. Offering 1,500 unique design possibilities upon initial rollout at an incredible $380 MSRP, ELAN will release full details on the patent pending Ole’ at CEDIA Expo in September in booth #159.

“This is going to be a fall season to remember with the shipping of Ole` and we’re incredibly honored that Electronic House Magazine and its panel of judges have recognized the product with this prestigious award,” said ELAN’s President and Chief-Technology-Officer Bob Farinelli. “Ole` sets a new benchmark in design, control and price for the specialty market. With the massive number of decor-matching possibilities, Ole` will immediately raise the bar with respect to what Dealer’s can provide for their clients, while increasing their profits through its simple programming setup.”

Providing incredible appeal when matched with ELAN System6, System12, or Z Series Multi-zone platform products, Ole` delivers a multitude of seamless system options to Dealers, while the more than 200,000 existing Z Pad owners gain a terrific upgrade path. The addition of Ole` also extends the VIA! user interface popularity to new levels, adding even more punch to one of the strongest, most compelling interface lines available today.

Electronic House Magazine’s Product of the Year Awards are presented annually by EH Publishing and honor the best in home automation and home entertainment products. The editors of EH Publishing’s four magazines that are dedicated to the electronic house all choose their favorite products through a democratic voting process. Award recipients were chosen based on reviews that ran throughout the year, product demos, and surveys conducted with the installers and users of the products. Topping the list of criteria is technological innovation, overall value, and outstanding features.

“Electronic House consistently receives hundreds of innovative connected home product entries for consideration for its annual Product of the Year Awards. This product’s superior diversity and capabilities have earned it this recognition. We are pleased to honor ELAN’s Ole` as the best of the best among technology products for the connected home,” stated Electronic House Editor-in-Chief, Cindy Davis.

This year’s winning products will be featured in the September 2006 issue of Electronic House magazine, which will have bonus distribution to thousands of CEDIA Expo attendees.
