ELANs Tech Week 2008 Registration Now Open to ELAN, HomeLogic and Sunfire Dealers

Lexington, KY — ELAN Home Systems, a leading manufacturer of award-winning Multi-Room audio/video and home automation systems, announced today that registration for its highly anticipated Tech Week 2008 is now open to ELAN, HomeLogic and Sunfire Dealers. Tech Week is the industry’s most intensive technical training event specifically designed and produced for ELAN Technicians, Installers, and Programmers. This year, the unique program has been expanded to include full training from ELAN’s closest sister companies, Sunfire and HomeLogic as well as Tech Week Sponsors. Tech Week 2008 has grown into the ultimate educational source for Home Entertainment / Audio, IP-Based Control solutions, and Luxury Home Theater. The announcement was made by Paul Starkey, ELAN’s Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

Tech Week 2008 represents the most in-depth and comprehensive three days of product, programming and installation training ever held by ELAN. Scheduled to take place at the Marriot Griffin Gate Resort from May 13 through 16, 2008 in Lexington, with limited seating available exclusively for authorized ELAN, HomeLogic and Sunfire Dealers. This year’s program will bring together 300 of the finest Custom Electronic Technicians from around the globe — all gathered together with a single purpose: to hone their skills and share knowledge. It’s the industry training event of the year and one that Installers won’t want to miss.

This one-of-a-kind program has been specifically designed to meet the individual needs of every Installer by offering three different levels of hands-on and classroom training to match their experience and educational requirements. All attendees will gain intensive hands-on systems connectivity training with 30 hands-on, custom-filled equipment racks specially designed for Tech Week. The investment ELAN has made is significant and includes seven months of staff preparation and providing well over one million dollars in training equipment on site so that Dealer’s have the best real-world and most valuable experience possible.

Working directly with ELAN, HomeLogic, Sunfire and ELAN’s Sponsors and integration partners, attendees will learn about new products and technologies. Also covered will be ELAN’s new setup software, ELANTOOLS (due to be released in 2008), installation techniques, system integration and programming, and a wide variety of technical tips offered directly from the staff that created and support the systems.

The conference will combine hands-on participation with intensive classroom training. Tech Week is one place where Installers will learn best practices of whole-house A/V system design, IP-based systems integration and control, and Luxury Home Theater, in the most immersive training event within the industry. Tech Week will also provide a unique forum where Technicians, Programmers and Installers can share product and installation knowledge through forums and evening activities.

Now held bi-annually, Tech Week was spawned from ELAN’s phenomenally popular and completely unmatched TRIO Dealer Summit in 2006 in order to provide Technical Dealers with even more hands-on training time. This year’s event will build on its inaugural success by bringing a larger number of technicians to the training and technology session, in an effort to continue to provide Dealers with as many tools and relationships as possible to ensure their ongoing success.

“Now more than ever, the economy and times necessitate that our Dealers be extremely competitive and stay up-to-date on the latest technologies,” stated Paul Starkey. “Tech Week is the only event that offers them the opportunity to get the latest information on such a broad range of products, brands, and solutions in an extremely focused environment — all in one place and all for an affordable price. Our investment in Tech Week is centered directly on providing our Dealers with the very best possible value-ad for their businesses over the span of three days.”

Tech Week manufacturer Sponsors are soon to be announced, and will include the industry’s leading lighting, climate and security ELAN Integration Partners.

Tech Week is one key piece of ELAN’s award-wining and broad spectrum of industry-benchmark training options. Dealers may choose exactly what is best for them from a vast array of multi-faceted options including, but not limited to, ELAN and Sunfire University, weekly national in-field trainings, Lexington twice-monthly Headquarters Training Seminars, Regular West Coast Training in Carlsbad at Linear’s facility, trade show trainings, Distribution trainings, and Tech Week. These options combined, create a training lineup offering unmatched by any other specialty company in the business. Additionally, all programs offer certification, so that Dealers have the means to be the best they can be with ELAN and close partner Companies.

ELAN University now leads industry training with over 133,000 courses taken, over 5,200 certifications issued, and over 5,100 students participating.

Cat Fowler, ELAN’s Vice President of Marketing and Technical Services, added, “Our first-ever Tech Week was a huge success. To take it to the next level, we’ve folded attendee feedback into this year’s program in order to make it even more exciting, to further serve the needs of our Dealers and to present our finest training event to date. Tech Week 2008 will offer the first major opportunity for participation in courses and personnel connections with ELAN, HomeLogic and Sunfire under one roof.”
