ELAN Home Systems Ground-Breaking Ole Continues to Break All the Records

Phenomenal Debut of Industry’s First Film Interactive Touchpad Sets New ELAN Sales Record
Representing Most Successful Product Launch in Company History

LEXINGTON, KY — ELAN Home Systems, a leading manufacturer of award-winning Multi-Room audio/video and home control systems, announced today that the debut of Ole, its revolutionary new Film Interactive Touchpad, was the most successful product launch in the company’s history with close to 10,000 units sold in less than two weeks. The announcement was made by Paul Starkey, ELAN’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

In just the two week period surrounding CEDIA Expo 2006, held in Denver in September, Ole broke all previous ELAN product launch records with Dealers booking orders for more than 9,500 units of this highly anticipated Touchpad. The product has been so well received that ELAN has significantly stepped up production to accommodate demand, and has now surpassed the 10,000 piece mark. ELAN reports that, likely as a result of Ole, the Company has also experienced noticeably stronger overall ELAN system sales.

The phenomenal success of the Ole debut rivals that of the VIA! Touch Panel, ELAN’s revolutionary control panel, the industry’s first stand-alone touch screen with live video capabilities, which was launched in 2000. Today, VIA! continues to be the industry’s most reliable, responsive, easy-to-program and cost effective family of Touch Panels on the market. Prior to Ole’s release, VIA! held forth as the company’s most successful new product launch.

“Being extremely close with our Dealers and in tune with their needs, we felt certain this product would fulfill their desire for a serious upgrade in user interface design at a great price point. With Ole’s unique ability to transform itself, literally in seconds, to match any client’s decor and its (this is not a contraction) universal appeal, this product is a true home run for all of us. We are extremely excited about the fall selling season and the world of opportunities that lies ahead for us, our Dealers and their Customers,” stated Mr. Starkey.

“I was absolutely blown away and immediately sold on Ole upon seeing it,” affirmed Gary O’Donovan, Vice President of Front Row Media Systems located in Birmingham, Alabama. “This product has huge potential with its visual versatility due to the original film technology and wide range of designs, and our first one installed and was programmed in under 30 minutes! The ease of install time coupled with the price and ability to provide every client a custom look to match their home translates into sheer profit for us. There is simply nothing else like it out there.”

Ole has already garnered multiple top industry awards for innovation. The product marries the best of both worlds — all the speed, graphics and response of an LCD touch panel with the simplicity and pricing of a keypad, thus creating a completely new interface product category for the Custom Installation Industry. The ground-breaking Touchpad uses ELAN-designed gorgeous, photographic quality, backlit, slide-in films to match decor perfectly. Films come in many styles, themes and color-schemes that will match virtually any decor or personal taste. It’s easier-than-ever installation and simple VIA!TOOLS programming saves Dealers valuable time, thus increasing profits substantially.

Ole began shipping in first-production quantities in mid August 2006 at an astonishing MSRP of $380.00, and was publicly launched at CEDIA in Denver.
