DVDOs July Charity Auction of a New iScan VP20 will Benefit Hurrican Katrina Relief Efforts

Campbell, CA — July 3, 2006 — DVDO powered by Anchor Bay Technologies has announced that proceeds from the July Charity Auction will help fund Hurricane Katrina relief efforts in association with members of the Santa Clara First Baptist Church. Each month, as part of their corporate responsibility program, DVDO auctions off a new product package via the website http://www.dvdo.com/charityauction/, and donates all the proceeds to a different worthy cause.

From August 13th through the 20th, fifteen members from the Santa Clara First Baptist Church Impact Group will be going to Slidell, Louisiana to assist in the Hurricane Katrina clean-up efforts. The group will be spending a week in Louisiana helping to gut houses ravaged by the hurricane, in hopes that the families of Slidell will be able to return to their homes and a sense of normalcy as soon as possible. Once the houses have been gutted, residents can then begin the rebuilding process. Slidell is roughly thirty minutes outside of New Orleans with a population of about 120,000. Known as a great family town and home to the best performing schools in the state, this town was almost completely leveled by Katrina.

Dwight Whipple, Shipping Manager for DVDO, has been the driving force behind coordinating these efforts. As team leader of The Impact Group, Dwight, along with members Jerry and Sharon Cintas are trying to raise money for its members to take the trip to Louisiana. Although most of the members are college students, living on small budgets their ambitions are large. Individuals joining in the Katrina relief efforts are responsible for paying their own way to Louisiana, as well as covering costs incurred while there. The proceeds of the July Charity Auction will go directly to help fund their trip. While in Louisiana, the Impact Group is going to work in conjunction with Operation Blessing, a non-profit organization that has contributed greatly to the rebuilding of Slidell and other hurricane ravaged areas.

The auction package for July includes a brand new DVDO iScan VP20 in the box with full warranty and an upgrade package that enhances both the aesthetic and performance value. When integrated into a home entertainment set-up, the VP20 offers state-of-the-art video processing allowing users to watch all video sources in the native high definition, which is best for their display. The upgrade package includes a user-installable VRS Precision Deinterlacing Card as well as DVDO’s new VP20 silver (brushed aluminum) faceplate. The total retail value of the package is $2297.

“The entire team at DVDO and Anchor Bay Technologies are proud of Dwight Whipple and the admirable work he is doing with The Impact Group. To see a group, consisting mostly of college students, paying their own way to help victims of a devastating natural disaster is incredibly uplifting. We chose the Impact Group as our beneficiary for the July Charity Auction because of our personal interest with Dwight and the fact that there can never be enough resources available for such a colossal rebuilding effort,” said Worldwide Director of Sales and Marketing, Gary Chappell.

DVDO and its parent company Anchor Bay Technologies (ABT) also extend their charitable endeavors into the local community. Every month, several employees volunteer with the Second Harvest Food Bank in San Jose, CA. Volunteers contribute by sorting and distributing food for member agencies, helping with the upkeep of the food bank and performing data entry to assist with inventory.
