DUNU is back at it, this time teaming up with Kaji Kaji—better known as Koto—for a multi-driver hybrid IEM called the DUNU x KOTO ITO. Kicked off by HiFiGo and officially finalized in November 2024, the design went through multiple revisions before landing on the final version. Each side packs a dual dynamic and dual balanced armature driver setup, blending Koto’s sound vision with DUNU’s engineering.

At $199.99, it feels like a steal if these hold up, and North American fans will likely get their first look this weekend at CanJam SoCal in California. No hype, no fluff—just two audio obsessives building something meant to cover everything from jazz to metal without flinching.

DUNU x KOTO ITO: Origins, Collaboration, and Development of the Multi-Driver Hybrid IEM

The ITO was conceptualized around Koto’s vision, leveraging his years of experience reviewing HiFi audio gear. DUNU, with their track record in high-fidelity IEM design, translated that vision into a tangible product.

The development went through five tuning revisions, including real-world feedback from audiophiles at CanJam Singapore 2025. The aim was simple: a musical, rhythmic, and immersive sound profile that doesn’t skimp on technical accuracy.

The DUNU x KOTO ITO packs a 2DD+2BA hybrid setup per side, combining a 10mm bio-diaphragm dynamic driver for deep bass, an 8mm LCP dynamic driver for clean mids, and two balanced armatures for detailed treble.

The DUNU x KOTO ITO comes with a premium accessory package. You get three types of silicone ear tips, including DUNU Candy and DUNU S&S, plus a high-purity 4-core silver-plated single-crystal copper cable with 22AWG Litz braided wire.

The cable features 0.78mm 2-pin connectors and a patented Q-Lock quick-switch system, with both 3.5mm single-ended and 4.4mm balanced plugs included. The ITO’s ear shells are crafted from skin-friendly resin, and at just 6.5 grams per side with an ergonomic shape, they promise a comfortable fit for most users.
