Dialogic adds SIP call control to Diva telephony board range
Series of software enhancements adds additional value to existing products — Standard PCI form factor telephony boards become TDM/IP gateway systems
CeBIT, Hanover, Germany. March 15, 2007– Dialogic Corporation (“Dialogic”), a global provider of world class products and technologies for media and signal processing, announced today a series of software enhancements for its Diva range of telephony boards, including new versions of Diva device drivers, the software development kit (SDK) for Windows and Linux operating systems, and Diva soft SS7. As a major enhancement, developers can now use Diva SIPcontrol software to natively integrate Diva telephony boards into open, standard SIP (RFC 3261) based environments. This way customers can SIP-enable legacy TDM applications by re-using existing Diva hardware and at the same time reduce the cost and effort of integration as no programming to local application programming interfaces (APIs) is required anymore as a result of Host Media Processing (HMP) interoperability.
The following Diva software components are part of this release:
Diva SIPcontrol v1.5
Diva SIPcontrol turns any Diva telephony adapter into a SIP-enabled TDM/IP gateway system. It supports a variety of TDM protocols and interfaces, ranging from Analog over ISDN and Q.SIG with BRI and PRI interfaces to E1/T1 digital variants. Call control information from the Diva telephony board is translated into SIP messages while voice channels are converted into IP packets and streamed via the RTP protocol. Diva SIPcontrol also supports DTMF collection/generation according to RFC 2833 and fax over IP according to T.38.
Diva SIPcontrol v1.5 will be made available as a software download and is licensed so that up to eight channels per system can be used free-of-charge. Additional channel licenses are commercially available in steps of 30, 60 and 120 channels.
Diva Software Suite v8.3
With this enhanced set of device drivers all Diva telephony boards can be operated in 32-bit and 64-bit Windows and Linux based systems, offering industry standard CAPI programming interface. As a major edition, this release supports a new 2-port low-profile PCI form factor analog telephony adapter, Diva Analog-2P as well as PCI-Express variants of Diva ISDN PRI boards. For E1 deployments in Brazil, Mexico, Philippines, Thailand and Indonesia protocol support for E1 lines using R2MF is now included. Finally Diva Software Suite v8.3 now supports event logging so that Windows-based systems can use Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) for checking system integrity. Diva Software Suite v8.3 is available free of charge and can be downloaded from the Dialogic web site.
Diva SDK v4.5
The Diva SDK offers high level functions for easy and fast application development, ensuring independence of the underlying communications platform (TDM or IP) as well as the operating system (Windows or Linux). It offers developers a choice of modern and effective programming environments such as Visual C#, Visual Basic .Net, C and C++. The latest version 4.5 of Diva SDK offers improvements in the area of tone and DTMF handling delivered as ActiveX components. Further there are enhancements for fax processing in JPEG and TIFF format. Diva SDK v4.5 is available free of charge and can be downloaded from the Dialogic web site.
Diva softSS7 v1.5
Diva softSS7 entirely abstracts SS7/ISUP call control from the application. In this way developers can use Diva APIs (CAPI and Diva SDK) in combination with Diva PRI/E1 boards for the implementation of SS7 applications. The latest version 1.5 adds enhancements to the SS7 management and supports SS7 blocking and unblocking of channels according to ITU-T ISUP specifications. Additional information elements are supported and allow a more seamless integration with existing SS7 deployments, including support for charging information via application transport mechanism (APM). Diva softSS7 v1.5 is a license fee based software option which can be purchased in combination with Diva PRI/E1 adapters.
