CodexNovus HDcodex Media Servers Achieve ISF Certification

Media Entertainment Servers Deliver Top Tier Performance and Features to Custom Installers

CHAMPAIGN, IL — June 23, 2006 — CodexNovus Inc., the leader in stand-alone and networked media player and server technologies, today announced that its DML-200 and DML-1000 media server products have received Imaging Science Foundation (ISF) certification. The company’s media storage devices meet the metrics and specifications that define the best video performance available for consumers. Since 1994, ISF has provided comprehensive testing and certification of performance quality, and a publicly recognized logo program for high-end electronics products that consumers identify with superior quality.

“We are extremely proud to have received ISF’s stamp of approval,” stated Hugo Feugen, President of CodexNovus, Inc. “ISF’s comprehensive testing identifies high performance products and receiving this certification signifies our products are among the best in the industry.”

ISF certification guides consumers to the very best hardware and software for home entertainment systems. CodexNovus devices run on the company’s proprietary HDcodex software configuration. HDcodex delivers the reliability necessary for use in today’s demanding home theater environments. These products are designed for artifact-free film and sports viewing, superb color fidelity, quiet operation and other home-entertainment-based quality parameters. ISF services include detailed measurement of video processing for TV, DVD, and high-definition content to ensure the highest customer expectations are met.

“ISF CodexNovus Certification is proof that properly designed digital video products need not sacrifice image quality for server based operational convenience,” said Joel Silver, ISF President.

“There are video servers that dealers already know hold back HDTV performance–we encourage dealers to add test patterns to video servers and evaluate the performance of the systems they install for their clients. These systems are expensive toys and must not be a weak link in the video chain in high end home theaters,” he added.

The ISF certification program provides a comprehensive assessment of HDcodex’s fidelity. Meeting ISF certification standards represents a performance level often better than that offered by other consumer electronics devices. CodexNovus plans to provide a set of tools and test patterns for installers to calibrate its servers and systems to ISF specifications.

CodexNovus has two different media servers available to consumers. First, the DML-200 has been designed to elevate the quality of video playback by providing SD and HD video at resolutions of up to 1080p. It offers unparalleled flexibility and configuration options that support a wide range of media files. To complete the home theater experience the DML-200 also delivers multi-channel 5.1 and 7.1 high resolution digital audio capabilities. Additionally, the DML-1000 offers a full terabyte of storage capacity and provides virtually instantaneous to both standard and high definition video, digital audio and high resolution digital image content using an elegant and easy to use interface. The company’s proprietary HDcodex technology runs both the DML -200 and the DML-1000 models.
