Christie LW650 3LCD Projector

The Christie LW650, one of the brightest WXGA, single-lamp 3LCD projectors on the market. The new projector’s native WXGA (1366 x 800) resolution provides a wide screen format image for full-screen compatibility with the latest laptops and monitors.

“Wide XGA is where the industry is moving. Fulfilling the need to display larger amounts of data, the Christie LW650 is among the leading high-brightness WXGA projectors which can present data and video sources with enhanced image quality,” says Frank Anzures, product manager for Christie.

“The new projector offers a full-range of premium features, including extreme lens shift capability,” says Anzures. “It is designed for performance, flexibility and ease of use with Pro AV features that make it easy for the installer and the customer to integrate into an existing network of projectors.”

A compact and affordable LCD projector with inorganic panels for long life, the Christie LW650 packs a powerful punch with 6500 ANSI lumens and 2500:1 contrast ratio for deep, rich blacks and high brightness. It boasts 10-bit image processing that reproduces over 1.07 billion colors and offers superior grey scale rendering as well as smooth, artifact-free images.

The Christie LW650 is ideally suited for high quality presentations such as videoconferencing, museum installations, houses of worship and rental/staging applications. Offering high brightness, it is a great fit for large conference rooms and medium-sized auditoriums. The new projector’s whisper mode operates at a low 32dBA, for quiet, non-intrusive performance and less disruption during meetings.

The Christie LW650 is available with up to six optional lenses – with more available soon – including an ultra short throw. The Lens Memory feature, which is available on selected lenses, allows the user to lock-in and quickly recall up to three lens positions, including lens shift, focus and zoom settings.

A key feature of the Christie LW650 is its extreme lens shift capability, making it the industry’s most flexible 3LCD projector for installation or venue set up. Christie’s advancement in lens-shift technology allows the projector to be placed in challenging locations without needing additional digital corrections to place the image on center screen. The extreme shift capability is able to shift the image vertically by 85% of the screen’s height and horizontally by 60% of the screen’s width, covering a total range of up to 3.3 screen areas vertically and up to 2.2 screen areas horizontally.

In addition, a Picture-by-Picture split screen mode allows the user to display multiple images, video or data simultaneously using the wide aspect display format; a feature which is ideal for
videoconferencing.

The new projector supports Closed Captioning video display where available, a feature which is demanded by education and government markets.

The Christie LW650 also has a complete connectivity package for computer, video, and digital connections via HDMI. It includes a Network Bridge function to connect and control a network of projectors. Advanced security features include a security bar, Kensington-style lock option and additional menu security options.

Reliable and easy to maintain, the Christie LW650 is “designed with the customer in mind,” says Anzures, “with key features that provide years of reliable, maintenance-free, low-cost operation.”
