Canon imageRunner 5075 / 5065 / 5055 Office Printers Announced

New imageRUNNER Devices Bring the Latest Digital Multifunction Technology to High-Volume Office Users

Helping high-volume office and light production users produce professional-looking documents with speed and reliability, Canon U.S.A., Inc., the nation’s market share brand leader in black-and-white and color laser printer/copier solutionsi, today unveiled the imageRUNNER 5075/5065/5055.

Featuring Canon’s advanced imageCHIP (Concurrent Hyper Intelligent Platform) system architecture, the new imageRUNNER 5075/5065/5055 deliver digital output at speeds of up to 75 pages-per-minute (ppm) (Letter), 65ppm, and 55 ppm, respectively. With a long-lasting Amorphous Silicon drum, fast warm-up/recovery times, and a large paper capacity, these devices deliver the solid reliability needed in high volume office and light production environments. The new imageRUNNER 5075/5065/5055devices also feature as standard a brand new Single Pass Duplex Scanner/Feeder that efficiently captures image data from both sides of an original simultaneously, expanded set finishing/stapling capacities, and advanced folding and document insertion options.

High-Volume imageRUNNER Highlights
These new imageRUNNER models have been equipped with the processing power to handle the complex jobs required by demanding environments. The dual processor controller design, 1GB RAM and 40GB Hard Disk Drive provide superior productivity and operational concurrency for true multifunction performance. In addition, these models deliver outstanding image quality with true 1,200 x 1,200 dots-per-inch (dpi) printing resolutionii, and use Canon’s Fine Character & Edge Technology (FCET). The devices also incorporate Canon’s Multifunctional Embedded Application Platform (MEAP) for advanced customization.

The imageRUNNER 5075/5065/5055 offer high capacity document processing options to meet the demands of high volume environments. Highlights include:

  • Single Pass Duplex Scanner/Feeder that scans both sides of originals simultaneously at speeds up to 100 images-per-minute (ipm) at 300 dpi resolution and a document feeding capacity of up to 100 sheets to improve document distribution, communication and archiving;
  • Choice of two paper decks, including a Large Size paper deck with support for up to 11-inches x 17-inches, to boost paper capacity to a maximum of 7,650 sheets;
  • Document Insertion Unit provides the capability to insert pre-printed cover sheets into job streams for enhanced productivity;
  • Document Insertion/Folding Unit adds the ability to “C” and “Z” fold documents to help automate office workflow;
  • Optional Saddle Finisher to add saddle stitch stapling and V-folding capabilities for in-house booklet production of sets of up to 15 sheets; and
  • Optional Puncher to punch two or three holes in letter-, legal- or ledger-sized paper.

These devices can be equipped with Canon UFR II/PCL/PS Printer Kit for network printing in general office environments. For busier workplaces with higher bandwidth needs, users can choose the imagePASS controller to support sophisticated document production needs.

Canon’s Universal Send is available as an option on the new imageRUNNER models. Universal Send integrates with the new Single Pass Duplex Scanner/Feeder and its high-speed scanning capabilities to address customer’s document distribution needs and further improve office workflow when sending information to E-mail addresses, network folders, Mail Boxes and Internet Fax destinations. Additional features of the Universal Send option include Searchable and Encrypted PDF modes, as well as Digital Device Signature and Digital User Signature PDF modes. For more document distribution flexibility, a Super G3 Fax Board is also available.

Canon’s imageWARE Suite is designed to work seamlessly with the new imageRUNNER devices and offers easy-to-use tools for basic imaging, electronic archiving, and document retrieval techniques. For example, imageWARE document Manager Personal provides a centralized and effective document management system for both digitized hardcopy and electronic documents right from a desktop computer. The imageWARE Enterprise Management Console (EMC) provides a network device management package that enables centralized management of networked devices to reduce administrator workload and increase productivity.

The imageRUNNER 5075/5065/5055 will be available this quarter through Canon authorized dealers and Canon Business Solutions companies with manufacturer suggested retail prices of $28,000, $21,500 and $17,000, respectively.
