BTX Now Shipping Its Solderless MaxBlox CD-MX9M and CD-MX9F DB9 Connectors

HAWTHORNE, N.Y. — July 31, 2007 — BTX Technologies, Inc. today announced that it is now shipping its MaxBlox CD-MX9M (male) and CD-MX9F (female) patent-pending professional 9-pin D-sub connectors. The devices feature an innovative and rugged new design that eliminates soldering in the field for professional installers, integrators, and electrical contractors.

Optimized for use in any applications where RS-232 or RS-422 controls are used — including audio/video equipment, PCs, and home theater systems — the MaxBlox CD-MX9M and CD-MX9F connectors allow installers to terminate a DB9 with nothing more than a strip tool and screwdriver and mount it in a wall plate, panel, or MaxBlox CD-MX915 hood. When used in conjunction with the MaxBlox hood, the devices simply slide, snap, and lock into place without the use of tools.

“This new line of connectors is much different than any other version that our customers have seen from us. We are excited to be shipping the CD-MX9M and CD-MX9F to all our customers who have been eagerly awaiting them since their debut at InfoComm,” said Mark Chernoff, director of marketing for BTX. “For installers, our new connectors offer a great benefit in that they eliminate the need for soldering, which is a time-consuming and frustrating process. Additionally, with the MaxBlox line, no special training is needed. If you know how to strip a wire and use a screwdriver, you can easily terminate the connector.”

Manufactured with genuine Phoenix Contact terminal blocks for a reliable and secure connection, the CD-MX9M and CD-MX9F connectors have clearly labeled screw terminals for each of the nine conductors and accommodate cable sizes ranging from 16 AWG to 30 AWG. The devices have been tested up to a 15-pound pull force when used with a MaxBlox hood.

The new connectors are shipping at a retail price of $16.95 each.
