Blaupunkt Ships Four New High-Value Car Radios

BROADVIEW, IL (5/18/05) — Blaupunkt has announced immediate shipment of four new AM/FM CD receivers that deliver outstanding sound quality and sophisticated features at value-oriented prices. Available features include MP3 compatibility, RGB Variocolour displays with 4,096 selectable colors, and a wide array of connections for integration with mobile electronics and entertainment systems. Each model includes a high quality CD transport, AM/FM tuner, four channel amplification, three-band preset EQ, CDC controls, and preamplifier outputs.

The Monterrey MP35 is an AM/FM/CD/MP3 receiver that includes Blaupunkt’s Variocolour display capability, which allows the display color to be customized to match any car interior or dash lighting. It is capable of playing MP3-encoded CDs, allowing consumers to store up to 10 hours of music on a single MP3 CD-R/RW. The unit’s CD transport includes a 10 second CD, and 100 second MP3 shock proof memory to eliminate disc skips or MP3 dropouts on the road. Other features include programmable bass, treble, and XBass EQ functions to customize sonic performance. There is an auxiliary input for integration with satellite tuner, video system, or navigation computer, as well as pre-outs for all four channels as well as a subwoofer. The Monterrey MP35 is currently available at a suggested retail price of $209.95.

The Syracuse MP35 AM/FM/CD/MP3 receiver also features Blaupunkt’s Variocolour display capability, MP3 compatibility, and 10 second CD/100 second MP3 shock proof memory. There are programmable bass, treble, and XBass EQ functions to let consumers tailor sonic performance to individual vehicles and tastes. The auxiliary input features telephone and navigation functions to allow these devices to override radio and CD output when in use. The Syracuse MP35 is currently available at a suggested retail price of $189.95.

The Blaupunkt Bermuda MP35 AM/FM/CD/MP3 receiver boasts the same audio control and connectivity features as the Syracuse, as well as the capacity to play MP3-encoded CDs, but with an attractive white faceplate display. The unit’s CD transport includes a 10 second CD, and 100 second MP3 shock proof memory to eliminate disc skips or MP3 dropouts on the road. The Bermuda MP35 is currently available at a suggested retail price of $149.95.

The Blaupunkt Laguna CD35 AM/FM CD receiver features a high quality CD transport, including 10 second shock-proof memory to prevent disc skipping on even the roughest roads. The 3-band preset equalizer and adjustable XBass low frequency EQ functions let users adjust sound to suit their individual car acoustics and personal preference. It includes CD changer controls, and four-channel preamplifier outputs for system expansion, as well as an auxiliary input for integration with satellite tuner, video system, or navigation computer. The Laguna CD35 is currently available at a suggested retail price of $119.95.
