BROADVIEW, IL (5/24/06) — Blaupunkt has announced immediate shipments of two new high-value CD/MP3 and AM/FM car audio receivers, the Key West MP36 and the Bahamas MP46. Both offer high sound quality plus the extensive connectivity needed for today’s gadget-rich environment, and they are designed to work with an optional Bluetooth interface. A Variocolour display panel with 4096 colors can be customized to match any car interior and dash lighting. The Bahamas MP46 model also includes full graphic display.

The Key West MP36 and the Bahamas MP46 include a premium CD player with MP3 compatibility for up to 10 hours of music from one MP3 CD R/RW. A shock-proof memory feature (10 second CD, and 100 second MP3) eliminates disc skips or dropouts on the road. A detachable/flip-down faceplate creates an attractive appearance and enhances theft protection.

Designed for easy integration with mobile electronics and entertainment systems, the Blaupunkt Key West MP36 and the Bahamas MP46 offer an auxiliary input for use with satellite radio or video equipment, four-channel preamp outputs, and a variable subwoofer output. Both models also provide TEL/NAVI inputs for use with cell phone and navigation system, and are compatible with the company’s optional Bluetooth module for seamless integration with Bluetooth enabled mobile phones. Additionally, Blaupunkt’s optional iPod interface can be added, giving users the ability to playback and control their iPod using the receiver’s CD Changer controls, view ID3 tag info on the receiver faceplate, and even recharge the iPod battery while it is being used in the car.

Both Blaupunkt receivers include adjustable bass, treble, and XBASS EQ functions that let listeners dial-in sound for ideal performance. Additionally, there is a user-adjustable three-band parametric EQ that includes selectable bass, midrange, and treble center point frequencies for even greater flexibility and sharper sound. The EQ system also includes three preset EQ profiles designed to optimize playback of different program types, such as rock, pop, or classical music.

Additional features for the Blaupunkt Key West MP36 and Bermuda MP46 include adjustable scan tuning, CD Changer compatibility, ID3 tag display for MP3 files, and an included credit card-sized RC-12H remote control. The Key West MP36 and the Bahamas MP46 are currently available at suggested retail prices of $149.99 and $179.99 each, respectively.
