Avastor HDX-800 Hard Drives Chosen for Collaboration Project

With an unprecedented music career spanning over 40 years, Clarence McDonald has produced and recorded such artists as Patti LaBelle, Aretha Franklin and James Taylor. Knowing that he would need a reliable and reputable storage drive for his highly anticipated album, Clarence McDonald & Evolution, McDonald naturally chose Avastor’s HDX-800 Triple Interface FireWire drives.

Clarence McDonald & Evolution is a collection of classic hits performed by McDonald himself and co-produced and engineered by three time GRAMMY winner, David Isaac, who has worked with both Madonna and Eric Clapton. The use of the drives combined with Avastor’s customer service was fundamental in creating such an inspiring album.

“I have had great success with the Avastor HDX-800 Triple Interface FireWire drives,” says McDonald. “The Avastor drives have significantly helped reduce the stress of recording this project. For instance, the second that we thought there was a problem with the fan, Avastor delivered a new drive to the studio within hours. This is the kind of customer service that I consider world class.”

Designed with the workload requirements of audio/video professionals in mind, Avastor’s HDX-800 offers the highest transfer rates for both MAC and PC based workstations with its dual FireWire 800 ports. Featuring an internal 110/220V auto switching power supply that doesn’t require an external AC adapter, the HDX-800 is the company’s only drive with storage capacities ranging from 80 GB to 1TB.

Clarence is served by RDS (Recording Data Service), one of Avastor’s major distributors in Los Angeles, CA.
