AVADs Head Magazine Available to CEDIA Members

AVAD LLC, North America’s leading distributor of custom home electronics, has announced its award-winning custom publication, Gear Head, will now be available to all members of the Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association (CEDIA). CEDIA members can sign up to receive complementary subscriptions to Gear Head, featuring expert advice and industry insight on audio, video, structured wiring, whole-house distribution and more, through CEDIA’s bi-monthly e-newsletter, “e”VENTS. Prior to this exclusive partnership with CEDIA, Gear Head subscriptions were restricted only to AVAD dealers and vendors.

“We are proud to expand our distribution of Gear Head to all CEDIA members,” said Wally Whinna, executive vice president of marketing for AVAD. “Since its inception, Gear Head has been a magazine that addressed the issues important to custom installation professionals and we look forward to sharing this valuable insight with CEDIA and its members. We recognize the important role CEDIA plays in custom installation industry and applaud its efforts to provide dealers with resources to help its members manage and grow their businesses.”

Gear Head is published three times a year and features articles from AVAD dealers, vendors, employees and other respected experts in the custom electronics industry. The custom publication also features “tips and hints” on relevant topics such as communications, technology trends, new areas of profitability, sales, customer service, system design and installation ideas.

Since its inaugural issue unveiled at CEDIA Expo 2007, Gear Head’ circulation has grown to approximately 18,000 subscribers with distribution throughout North America. The magazine has garnered numerous awards for its design and editorial content. Gear Head earned the Gold Award at the Custom Publishing Council’s 2007 Pearl Awards in the “Design: Best New Publication/Magazine” category, and in 2008, the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP) awarded the magazine a MarCom Platinum Award in the “Design/Magazine Cover” category.
