Audio-Technica Introduces High-Performance ATH-ANC3 QuietPoint Noise-Cancelling In-Ear Headphones At CES 2008

LAS VEGAS, NV, January 7, 2008 — CONSUMER ELECTRONICS SHOW (CES) — Audio-Technica today announced the introduction of its ATH-ANC3 QuietPoint active noise-cancelling in-ear headphones, which combine exceptional 85% noise cancellation with outstanding sound quality, comfort and portability.

The ATH-ANC3 employs patented technology that detects environmental noise via miniature microphones incorporated into each ear bud, and applies a corresponding sound-cancelling signal. To achieve its superior performance in blocking 85% of outside noise, the ATH-ANC3 utilizes active noise cancellation over a wide frequency range, unlike some in-ear headphones that actively cancel low frequencies only.

The ATH-ANC3 is ideal for use on airplanes and trains, while jogging or exercising, or anywhere users want to listen to the music — and just the music. Designed for total comfort and convenience, the ATH-ANC3 is supplied with three sizes of ear tips (small, medium and large) for a customized fit. It features a compact control unit with a monitor switch that mutes all functions, to let users hear important outside announcements and conversations. The ATH-ANC3’s audio functions when its noise-cancelling function is turned off, and it can be used without batteries. Like all Audio-Technica products, the ATH-ANC3 is designed to deliver clear, high-resolution sound, with outstanding bass response, midrange detail, high-frequency extension and imaging. It can also be used in noise-cancelling-only mode without audio.

The ATH-ANC3 is supplied with a hard, durable carrying case, an adjustable cable and additional extension cable, an airline adapter for connection to in-flight entertainment systems, a clothing clip and an AAA battery. Available in a color choice of black or white, the ATH-ANC3 is the latest addition to the Audio-Technica QuietPoint lineup, which includes the award-winning ATH-ANC7 active noise-cancelling headphones.

The Audio-Technica ATH-ANC3 active noise-cancelling in-ear headphones will be available in spring 2008 at a U.S. MSRP of $169.95.
