Audeze Euclid Closed-Back IEMs Raise the Bar and Price for Headphone Users

Audeze’s first closed-back in-ear headphone targets audiophiles and pro audio users that can afford its $1,299 price tag.

Audeze have announced the release of a new high-end closed-back in-ear earphone called the Euclid for $1,299. The earphone features custom built 18mm planar magnetic drivers, precision milled aluminum housing and both wired and Bluetooth connectivity.

Audeze Euclid Closed-back Earphones

The Euclid is Audeze’s fifth earphone; and expands on the existing LCDi4, LCDi3, iSine 20 and iSine 10. In terms of pricing, it fits between the LCDi4 ($2495) and the stellar LCDi3 we recently reviewed for $899. Although it is not a replacement for any model in the existing lineup, it was created in response to direct feedback from Audeze’s distributors in Asia.

The major departure with the Audeze Euclid is its closed back design, which stops other people from hearing what you are listening to. Both the iSine and LCD series earphones are uniquely open back planar magnetic designs that have pushed the performance envelope in the category.

Audeze Euclid In-ear Headphone around ear

The Audeze Euclid addresses some of the concerns from previous models. Most notably, the earhooks are dropped. The Euclid fits in your ear like normal earbuds allowing the wire to wrap around your ear. They’re a little smaller than the iSine (0.5mm vs 0.7mm) and should fit inside most ears more easily. And they’re more durable, made of aluminum instead of plastic.

Euclid is designed for audiophiles and pro audio users seeking a high-end in-ear headphone.

Sound Quality

As for sound quality, Audeze claims Euclid produces zero audible distortion with enhanced clarity and accuracy in sound reproduction. Further adding, “customers should experience a wider, more immersive sound stage.”

“Euclid delivers heightened detail retrieval and sonic accuracy with a soundstage and dynamic range so robust you’ll forget you’re listening to a closed-back in-ear. The miniaturized 18mm single planar magnetic driver has no crossovers, resulting in superior cohesion across the entire frequency spectrum. Euclid boasts an incredible 105 dB/mW efficiency and a max SPL well over 120dB, giving it the highest dynamic range of any in-ear in its size category.”
