Andover Audio, the Boston-based crew that’s been quietly outclassing half the “lifestyle audio” market, just dropped the SpinPlay, a new all-in-one record player that might be the easiest way yet to get proper hi-fi sound without a single headache. Known for smartly engineered gear like the SpinStage phono preamp and the SpinBase MAX turntable speaker system—both absolute killers for the money—Andover’s latest creation takes the plug-and-play concept to its logical extreme.
The SpinPlay is built around the company’s patented IsoGroove technology—borrowed from their flagship Andover-One ($2,499)—to keep vibrations from wrecking your sound, even when you crank it. Pull it from the box, plug it in, drop a record, and you’re spinning. No tonearm balancing. No cable jungle. Just vinyl, simplified. And because Andover knows real life doesn’t always happen in one place, the SpinPlay’s sturdy construction, hardtop cover, and fabric-clad retro styling make it easy to move, display, or show off—without looking like you borrowed it from your college dorm.

“The SpinPlay is for vinyl fans who want the simplicity of an all-in-one system with true out-of-the-box hi-fi sound quality,” said Bob Hazelwood, Director of Engineering and Product Development at Andover Audio. “We have a well-established history of delivering reliable, award-winning sound from compact vinyl playback systems that are built to perform and built to last—satisfying both discerning music enthusiasts and newcomers to the format alike.”
IsoGroove Tech and Real Hi-Fi Sound—No Fuss, No Audiophile Ego Required
The Andover Audio SpinPlay takes a straightforward approach to real hi-fi sound in an all-in-one record player. It uses Dual Direct Drive amplification, giving each woofer and tweeter its own amplifier for clean, balanced playback. With a 270° driver array that combines two 1.75″ × 4″ oval woofers and 0.75″ silk-dome tweeters, it delivers 20 watts to the lows and 15 watts to the highs across a 60Hz–20kHz range. The result is an open, detailed presentation that feels far larger than the small enclosure suggests.

The belt-drive turntable features an electronically regulated motor for steady speed and low noise. A 12-inch aluminum platter provides weight and stability, while the 9-inch balanced aluminum tonearm includes an Audio-Technica magnetic cartridge for accurate tracking. The tonearm’s adjustable anti-skate keeps things in check. It’s ready to play out of the box—the platter and belt are already installed, and the tonearm comes pre-balanced.
The SpinPlay offers Line, Optical Digital, and USB flash-drive inputs, along with Bluetooth transmit and receive support, so it works easily with both wired and wireless setups. It also pairs with Andover’s SpinSub subwoofer ($379) and SpinStand ($269), which can hold up to 150 records.
For travel, the upcoming SpinPlay Go-Bag (available Q1 2026) is designed to fit under a commercial airline seat or in an overhead compartment. The system’s sturdy construction and protective cover make it easy to move from one space to another without fuss. It’s built for people who want solid sound without the usual setup drama.

The Bottom Line
At $729 USD, the Andover Audio SpinPlay lands squarely between entry-level turntables and the bloated “lifestyle” record players flooding Amazon. It’s built like a real component, not a prop. With IsoGroove feedback control, Dual Direct Drive amplification, Bluetooth transmit/receive, and a fully equipped belt-drive turntable topped with an Audio-Technica cartridge, it’s clear Andover aimed to make something both serious and simple.
While the Crosley crowd might eye the SpinPlay as overkill, anyone who’s actually listened to one knows the difference. This isn’t a toy—it’s a real hi-fi system that happens to be plug-and-play.
The SpinPlay does include a 3.5mm line output, so it can be connected to an external amplifier or powered speakers if you really want to. Andover even includes a mini-to-RCA adapter cable in the box, which is a nice touch given the limited space on the rear panel.
That said, the company doesn’t expect most users to go that route—the SpinPlay is meant to stand on its own. Still, a pair of dedicated RCA outputs would have made system integration a bit cleaner for those building around separate amplification.
Price & Availability
Available now for pre-order in black or white for $729 at andoveraudio.com, the SpinPlay ships mid-November 2025 and will also roll out through authorized dealers and Amazon soon.
