Ambisonic Announces Marquee In-Wall Home Theater Speaker System: CEDIA 2024

Ambisonic leverages expertise in outdoor speakers for new line of in-wall speakers using planar ribbon technology for home theater.

Ambisonic Systems Marquee In-wall, On-wall and In-ceiling Home Theater Speaker

Since Ambisonic Systems was acquired by Origin Acoustics in 2021, they have been making residential and professional speakers under the Origin Acoustics umbrella.

For 2024, Ambisonic Systems has its first dedicated High-Performance Planar Ribbon home theater system, the Ambisonic Marquee Home Theater

The Ambisonic Marquee Home Theater collection includes 5 new models:

  • AM5600 L/C/R front in-wall/on-wall speakers
  • AM3600 surround in-wall/on-wall speakers
  • AM3600A angled surround on-wall speakers
  • AM2600IC angled in-ceiling speakers
  • AMB5600 in-wall dual subwoofer

All of the speakers in the system (except for the subwoofer) incorporate an Ambisonic System magnetic planar ribbon tweeter and planar ribbon coaxial drivers.

Although detailed specifications for each Marquee speaker have not been provided, here’s what we know so far.

The Ambisonic Marquee speakers and subwoofer are made of premium and durable extruded aluminum, except for the AM2600IC which incorporates MDF construction. All the speakers are available for slim on-wall and in-wall placement.

The AM5600 is designed as the system’s LCR (Left/Center/Right Channel) speakers. The AM5600 incorporates bi-amp connectivity with a 3-inch magnetic planar ribbon tweeter (with waveguide), two 5½-inch mid-range, and two 8-inch mid-woofers made of woven fiberglass.

The AM3600 speakers are designed for surround channel placement. Each includes a 3-inch magnetic planar ribbon tweeter and two 5½-inch woven fiberglass woofers.

A home theater speaker setup is not complete without a subwoofer to reproduce the low bass frequencies. For that role, the AMB5600 in-wall subwoofer is designed to deliver maximum power with efficiency from dual 10” fiberglass drivers. Also, with a depth of less than 4 inches, the AMB5600 easily fits into standard stud walls.

The AM2600IC is an angled in-ceiling speaker that can be placed toward the listening area. The speaker incorporates a 1½-inch magnetic planar ribbon tweeter and an 8-inch coaxial planar ribbon.

The AM3600A surround / height on-wall speakers are designed to be placed on a wall where the ceiling and wall meet. They can be used as a height or rear surround speaker and feature a 1½-inch magnetic planar ribbon tweeter and an 8” coaxial planar ribbon.
