No external power or battery is needed, as the unit is powered by a USB port on any compatible desktop or laptop computer. A power-saving mode reduces power consumption.
The RIDATA Fingerprint USB Flash Drive works with the following operating systems: Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP; Linux Kernal 2.4 or later; and Mac OS8.6 or later. Users for Windows 98/98SE may download required drivers from www.ritekusa.com. The new flash drive features a read access speed of up to 9MB/sec and a write access speed of up to 8.3MB/sec.
