Cyrus Audio Joins the BluOS Ecosystem

Cyrus Audio have jumped onboard the BluOS train and we think that makes a lot of sense for a myriad of reasons.

Cyrus Audio Joins BluOS Ecosystem

Cyrus Audio is starting to create a larger footprint for itself in N. America and we think that’s a very good thing. The British manufacturer has made fantastic equipment for decades — only to be completely ignored by the N. American press.

It’s a problem for smaller brands in Canada and the United States that often struggle to find competent representation.

Things seem to be on the uptick for Cyrus Audio on a global level and we hope more dealers here take them on. The industrial design is very different but I’ve never listened to a Cyrus Audio system that wasn’t impressive.

We reviewed the Cyrus One HD Integrated Amplifier in 2021 and look forward to covering more products this year.

The news today out of our friends at Lenbrook is that Cyrus Audio have decided to integrate BluOS into their products going forward.

We think that makes a lot of sense for a few reasons; why invest all of that time and money into developing your own ecosystem that might be be inferior to a proven design with growing acceptance, and broadening the base of wireless products that can work with your own.

We’ve reviewed a number of NAD and Bluesound products over the past 2 years that utilize BluOS and we are big proponents of the platform.

We’re not sure if this means that forthcoming Cyrus Audio digital products will be Roon-Ready at launch (NAD and Bluesound products that use BluOS are), but that might be part of the deal.

“Music streaming remains complex with the wide variety and rapidly changing list of services and features that are demanded by the modern music consumer. We realised that being part of a well-established and class-leading ecosystem provided the best option for both our customers and dealers to minimise this complexity.  As such, we always found ourselves coming back to BluOS. Throughout our conversations, Lenbrook made clear their strong commitment to providing all customers a premium user experience, combined with access to the best of the hi-res music streaming services. That aligns so perfectly with the Cyrus brand values that it became a rather straightforward decision for us,” says Nicholas Clarke, Managing Director of Cyrus Audio. “Our team is naturally excited as we go forward, planning the latest expansion of the Cyrus Audio product range.”

“Our goal with BluOS continues to be being highly selective about the brands we add to the platform since it is so important that the shared ecosystem model be represented by totally like-minded and committed partners,” explains Gordon Simmonds, CEO of Lenbrook International. “Cyrus Audio is one of those well aligned brands that the Lenbrook team has long admired. We’re pleased they have come on board to share our BluOS high res music vision again reaffirming the significant investment we continue to make into this platform.”

BluOS is an award-winning proprietary, but brand-agnostic platform meaning that any BluOS Enabled product connected to the same Wi-Fi network can share music libraries and playlists, regardless of the brand of speaker or audio component. Found in products that range from amplifiers through to powered speakers and rack-mounted installed audio, BluOS Enabled products satisfy a wide range of use cases and applications, making it the most versatile hi-res multi-room streaming audio platform available on the market today.
