Cambridge Audio Streamers Get Amazon Music, 7-Band EQ — and Finally Catch Up with Qobuz Connect on the Way

New Cambridge Audio firmware update enables Amazon Music streaming, a 7-band EQ, and room compensation on the company’s latest streamers at no extra charge.

Cambridge Audio StreamMagic EQ 2025

In a move that will please owners and perhaps raise one eyebrow among the streaming faithful, Cambridge Audio has finally added Amazon Music support to its StreamMagic Gen 4 devices. Yes, that Amazon Music—the one your dad uses because it came with Prime shipping.

The OTA update also brings a 7-band EQ and room compensation to the table, letting users fine-tune their sound for that oddly shaped loft or bass-trap of a living room. You can even adjust channel balance now—just in case one side of your brain prefers more treble.

Compatible with the Evo 75, Evo 150, Evo One, AXN10, MXN10, CXN100, and EXN100, the update drops into the StreamMagic app without the need for cabling wizardry or sacrificial goats. And yes, Amazon HD is supported, so your 24-bit files can play at full resolution—assuming Jeff Bezos approves.

Cambridge is also teasing Qobuz Connect in a future update. It’s not here yet, but it’s coming… soon… probably. Let’s just say the villagers are getting restless and the pitchforks are sharpening in audiophile forums.

With streamer competition red hot—between the likes of Bluesound, WiiM, and even upstarts like Eversolo—you can’t afford to drag your British feet. If your platform doesn’t support the services people want now, they’ll swipe left and stream somewhere else.

Cambridge Audio Adds Spotify Normalization and QPlay, Promises Qobuz Connect in 2025 (No, Really This Time)

The latest StreamMagic update from Cambridge Audio also adds a few more useful tricks to its already strong streaming platform. First up: Spotify Normalization. No more reaching for the volume knob when your playlist jumps from Miles Davis to Motorhead—everything plays at a consistent level, so your ears (and neighbors) stay untraumatized.

Also new is QPlay support, allowing hi-res playback from QQMusic, one of China’s biggest streaming services. It’s a smart move for global users, and a nod to Cambridge’s growing international footprint.

As for Qobuz Connect? It’s still MIA, but Cambridge says it’s coming later in 2025. Kind of like Spotify Hi-Fi. Except this one might actually arrive.

This OTA update is available now for all StreamMagic Gen 4 devices: Evo 75, Evo 150, Evo One, AXN10, MXN10, CXN100, and EXN100.

The Bottom Line

You can grab any of the updated models at cambridgeaudio.com or from select retailers—assuming they haven’t all been snapped up by people who actually read the manual. Because while Cambridge Audio might take its sweet time adding the latest streaming services, it still builds some of the finest streamers and network amps this side of the Queen’s Wi-Fi. Streaming may be fashionably late, but the sound quality never is.
